Summary: The study found that robot-assisted laparoscopic partial nephrectomy and laparoscopic cryoablation had similar outcomes in treating localized T1-T2 renal tumors, with cryoablation having shorter operative time and less blood loss, and without compromising oncological outcomes.

Summary: The study compared the effects of LPN and OPN on complex ccRCC patients, revealing that the LPN group had higher levels of SCr and CysC and lower eGFR levels at 2 weeks post-operation, while both groups showed improvements in SCr, CysC, and eGFR levels at 3 months. Additionally, the LPN group had less intraoperative blood loss and shorter hospital stays but longer blocking times, as well as a lower incidence of complications compared to the OPN group.

Summary: This study compared the perioperative outcomes and complications of open partial nephrectomy (OPN) and laparoscopic partial nephrectomy (LPN). The results showed that LPN had shorter postoperative length of stay and estimated blood loss in patients with low complexity tumors, but longer operative time and renal artery clamp time compared to OPN. LPN and OPN had similar outcomes in patients with moderate and high complexity tumors.

Summary: This study compared the outcomes and safety of laparoscopic partial nephrectomy (LPN) and open partial nephrectomy (OPN) in patients with highly anatomical complexity of localized renal cell carcinoma (RCC). The results showed that OPN resulted in better renal function preservation than LPN, and the oncological and safety outcomes were comparable between the two procedures.

Summary: This study compares outcomes of robotic partial nephrectomy via transperitoneal versus retroperitoneal access. Retroperitoneal approach had shorter operative time, while complication rates and quality outcomes were comparable between the two approaches.

Summary: This meta-analysis evaluates the effectiveness and safety of laparoscopic radical nephrectomy (LRN) for renal tumor (>7 cm). The results show that compared to open radical nephrectomy (ORN), LRN has a longer operative time, but shorter length of stay, less estimated blood loss, and lower transfusion rates. There were no significant differences in local recurrence rate, complications, and oncological outcomes between the two groups.

Summary: In this study, a cost-effectiveness analysis was performed to assess the benefits of partial nephrectomy (PN) and percutaneous cryoablation (PCA) for patients with cT1a renal cell carcinoma (RCC). The results suggest that PCA is more cost-effective than PN in the majority of scenarios, although the currently available evidence is of limited quality.

Summary: This study compared the outcomes of robotic partial nephrectomy (RPN) and laparoscopic partial nephrectomy (LPN) for treating complex renal tumors. The results showed that RPN was associated with shorter operative time, warm ischemia time, length of stay, lower transfusion rate, and incidence of intraoperative complications compared to LPN, while maintaining oncological control and avoiding renal function decline.

Summary: This study compares the perioperative outcomes of open versus robot-assisted partial nephrectomy for complex renal tumors. The results show that robot-assisted partial nephrectomy has advantages in preserving renal function and reducing complications. Further research is needed to establish appropriate treatment strategies and guidelines.

Summary: The study retrospectively investigated the safety and oncological outcomes of cryoablation for residual/recurring renal cell carcinoma in the ipsilateral kidney following partial nephrectomy. The results showed that cryoablation is safe and results in high estimates of local tumor progression-free survival.

Summary: The study compared the perioperative outcomes of open, laparoscopic, and robotic partial nephrectomy surgeries, showing that minimally invasive techniques had lower complication rates compared to open surgery, with robotic surgery having the longest warm ischemia time. Overall, the choice of surgical technique did not significantly affect the likelihood of achieving a modified trifecta, but in less complex lesions, robotic PN had higher rates of achieving the trifecta compared to other techniques.

Summary: Nephron-sparing surgery is important for patients with multiple renal tumors, especially those with a solitary kidney or hereditary syndrome. This study compares the outcomes of partial nephrectomy for a single renal mass and multiple ipsilateral renal masses, including changes in renal function, complications, and warm ischemia time.

Summary: The present study compared the efficacy and safety of minimally invasive partial nephrectomy (MIPN) with open partial nephrectomy (OPN) in patients with complex renal tumors. The study found that MIPN performed better in terms of hospital stay, blood loss, transfusion rates, and complications, while there were no significant differences in operative time, local recurrence, and survival rates. Therefore, MIPN may be considered a better treatment option for patients with complex tumors when technically feasible.

Summary: The technique of orthotopic bladder replacement with an ileocecal pouch and unaltered appendix offers the possibility of improved body image for highly motivated patients. Additional procedures such as urethral stenting, clean intermittent catheterization, or artificial urinary sphincter implantation may be necessary for long-lasting success. This technique may be used in select patients, providing additional continence support.
