Summary: This study evaluated the effect of different irrigation protocols on the penetration depth of a calcium silicate-based sealer using confocal laser scanning microscopy. The results showed no significant differences in the percentage of sealer penetration and maximum depth between the NaOCl + EDTA and continuous chelation groups. Continuous chelation performed better in the coronal segments, while NaOCl + EDTA irrigation promoted a higher percentage of sealer penetration in the apical segment.

Summary: The study aimed to assess sealer penetration and dentinal tubule patency following different final rinses, with findings indicating that recently developed final rinses produced higher sealer penetration and more patent dentinal tubules compared to using EDTA and chlorhexidine sequentially.

Summary: In this study, the intratubular penetration area of a bioceramic sealer was evaluated using different obturation techniques. The results showed that the penetration areas varied in different root thirds and the warm obturation techniques resulted in more sealer penetration compared to the single cone technique.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of different irrigation activation techniques on the dentin tubule penetration of two different sealers. A total of 100 premolar teeth were used, and the root canals were shaped and irrigated using different techniques. The penetration areas of sealers were measured using confocal laser scanning microscope. The results showed that the use of activation techniques had a positive effect on dentin tubule penetration. The average tubule penetration and penetration area assessment techniques were found to be suitable methods for investigating dentinal tubule penetration.

Summary: This study aimed to develop microemulsions using poloxamer 124 as a surfactant to improve the skin penetration of finasteride. The microemulsions were found to significantly increase the skin penetration of finasteride, mainly through the hair follicle pathway.

Summary: The study evaluated the penetration of sealer after removal of calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)(2)) from root canals. EndoActivator (EA) and PIPS were shown to effectively remove Ca(OH)(2) and exhibit similar penetration to the control group in all sections. EA had greater penetration depth than conventional needle irrigation (CNI) in the middle section.

Summary: This study evaluated the effect of Sapindus mukorossi extract on sealer penetration and microleakage in root canals. The results showed that SM extract had comparable outcomes to 17% EDTA in cleaning the root canals.

Summary: The study evaluated the chemical and morphological changes of femtosecond laser-irradiated enamel using Raman spectroscopy, CLSM, and SEM. Results showed a significant decrease in carbonate content and carbonate/phosphate ratio in enamel after laser irradiation, without altering its structure and morphology.

Summary: The study used scanning electron microscopy to investigate the penetration depth of endodontic sealers into dentinal tubules. AH Plus showed significantly deeper penetration compared to TFHF, with greater penetration in the bucco-oral direction. Warm vertical compaction did not achieve deep penetration into dentinal tubules, with penetration depth values not exceeding a mean of 110 μm in SEM.

Summary: The study aimed to compare the effectiveness of different irrigation activation methods in removing the smear layer and penetrating the root canal system. Five different methods were used, including traditional needle irrigation, sonic irrigation, passive ultrasonic irrigation, and two laser irrigation activation methods. The results showed that laser methods PIPS and SWEEPS were the most effective in removing the smear layer at the apical level. Penetration depths and percentages increased from apically to coronally in all groups. PIPS showed the greatest penetration depth and percentage compared to other methods.

Summary: This study compared the penetration of Ah Plus and MTA Fillapex after irrigation activation with sonic, passive ultrasonic, SWEEPS, and XP-Endo Finisher using confocal microscopy. The results showed that SWEEPS group had higher penetration area and maximum penetration depth compared to other groups. This indicates that the use of SWEEPS for irrigation activation is promising in terms of tubule penetration.

Summary: A novel NIR-II CLSM system has been developed using inexpensive SiPM for multicolor biological imaging in vivo, achieving spatial resolution close to the diffraction limit and very low fluorescence detection sensitivity. Experiments in mice demonstrated comparable multicolor imaging performance in both NIR-I and NIR-II windows.
