Summary: Stress can lead to the loss of melanocyte stem cells and premature hair greying in mice due to hyperactivation of the sympathetic nervous system. While stress induces the release of stress hormones from the HPA axis, the ACTH-MC1R pathway is not a major contributor to acute stress-induced premature hair greying.

Summary: Overall, the study identified two basic splice variants and a novel transcript variant of c-KIT in merino sheep, shedding light on the molecular structure of the gene in sheep. The expression of c-KIT gene at transcript level was found to not be mediated through an intron-9 splicing event, providing novel insights into the gene expression regulation in sheep.

Summary: The study identified diosmetin as a novel TRPV1 antagonist that effectively reduces skin inflammation and oxidative reactions induced by UVB radiation. Diosmetin can significantly reduce ear edema, myeloperoxidase activity, and cytokine levels, and its effectiveness was histologically confirmed. This new drug also shows potential for application in the treatment of skin inflammatory disorders.

Summary: The involvement of NK and other cytotoxic cells is considered the first defense line against cancer. However, the possible roles of primitive cell markers in activating these cells, particularly in melanoma models, are not well understood. This study investigated the proportions of NK and iNKT cells, markers of activation and primitive/activation, and various tumor parameters in mice with induced melanoma. The study found that iNKT cells exert cytotoxic potential on tumor cells, but are confined to specific sites in the tumor. Natural killer cells showed more interactions with tumor cells, suggesting that the most effective treatment was a combination of pentoxifylline and norcantharidin.

Summary: This study aimed to explore the role of USP1 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The results showed that HCC patients with high expression of USP1 had shorter overall and disease-free survival. Functional experiments demonstrated that USP1 was critical for HCC cell growth and proliferation. The study also revealed that USP1 interacted with c-kit, promoting its stability and increasing the sensitivity of HCC cells to lenvatinib treatment.

Summary: In this study, it was found that 2-Allyloxybenzaldehydes readily undergo [2 + 1] cycloadditions under 365 nm LED irradiation to form chroman-fused cyclopropanols. This reaction occurs without the need for any catalysts or additives in dimethyl sulfoxide.

Summary: Canine oral malignant melanomas and melanocytic neoplasms may harbor c-Kit mutations, but there is no clear correlation between these mutations and KIT expression, which does not support the use of therapies targeting c-Kit in these cases.

Summary: The study found that HO-1 significantly influences the proliferation and DNA synthesis of CPCs, with Nrf2 promoting nuclear translocation possibly being the key regulator of antioxidant genes by HO-1. Upregulation of Ec-SOD by HO-1 in CPCs benefits the survival and reparative ability of CPCs.

Summary: In this work, a visible-light-induced [2+2+1] dearomative cascade cyclization of indole/furan alkynes with NaHSO3 has been reported, delivering various highly strained sulfonyl polycycles. Compared to previous methods, this approach eliminates the need for additional sacrificial oxidants and exhibits a wider reaction scope. Preliminary mechanistic studies suggest that the indole moiety initiates the reaction, which proceeds through a single-electron oxidation pathway.

Summary: The study revealed the key role of ELK1 as a transcription factor for CEA expression in CRC patients, activated by c-KIT-ERK1/2 signaling. Blocking ELK1 or its upstream signaling may be an alternative way to slow down CRC progression. In addition to being a biomarker, CEA could guide targeted therapy in CRC.

Summary: In this study, the effects of a topical liquid formula containing polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN), vitamin C, and niacinamide (PVN) delivered via microneedling therapy system (MTS) on photoaging and pigmentation were evaluated. The results showed that PVN decreased melanogenesis and destruction of collagen and elastin fibers by MMPs, leading to decreased skin pigmentation and increased skin elasticity.

Summary: Two concise strategies for synthesizing oxazolidin-2-imines have been developed without a transition-metal catalyst. The reactions showed good substrate applicability tolerance and high yields with good stereo selectivity. Additionally, a convenient method for synthesizing 3-phenylprop-2-yn-1-ols was provided. These economic and practical methods have great significance for the potential industrial synthesis of oxazolidin-2-imines.

Summary: The first Pd-catalyzed [5 + 2] rollover annulation of 1-benzylpyrazoles with alkynes has been developed to assemble 10H-benzo[e]pyrazolo-[1,5-a]azepines (tricyclic 2-benzazepines). The rollover annulation involves twofold C-H activation of aryl and heteroaryl C-sp(2)-H bonds (C-H/C-H) of 1-benzylpyrazoles (five-atom partners) and alkynes, resulting in [5 + 2] annulated compounds.
