Summary: This study assesses the effectiveness of machine-learning algorithms in predicting melanoma recurrence based on clinical and histopathologic features. The results show that machine-learning algorithms can extract predictive signals from these features and achieve high prediction performance, enabling the identification of patients who may benefit from adjuvant immunotherapy.

Summary: The study evaluated the management of conjunctival melanoma with local excision and adjuvant brachytherapy. The results showed that local excision with adjuvant brachytherapy provides good tumor control with excellent visual outcomes and mild side effects in patients with limited conjunctival melanoma. Results after Sr-90 or Ru-106 were comparable, and the choice may be based on the clinician's experience and material availability.

Summary: This study aimed to identify the risk factors for orbital exenteration and evaluate the prognosis of patients with conjunctival melanoma (CM) who underwent exenteration. The study found that worse cT category and larger tumor thickness were risk factors for orbital exenteration, while involvement of caruncle or palpebral conjunctiva was associated with increased risk of melanoma-related mortality. Orbital exenteration should be considered for unresectable disease in CM patients.

Summary: The risk factors for local-regional recurrence of PPGL include SDHB mutation, primary tumor size, and average Ki-67 count. Untreated patients after recurrence have a higher risk of metastases and death. Treating recurrence is important to decrease these risks.

Summary: By combining clinical and administrative data, this study demonstrates that almost one in ten CMM patients did not undergo wide local excision surgery. Monitoring how diagnostic-therapeutic protocols are actually implemented in the real world may significantly contribute to promoting quality improvements in the management of oncological patients.

Summary: This study evaluated long-term local-regional recurrence (LRR) in non-metastatic inflammatory breast cancer (IBC) patients undergoing trimodal therapy at a single institution and identified factors associated with local and distant failure. The results showed that the LRR rate for IBC patients treated with contemporary trimodal therapy was 6.9%, similar to that for non-IBC patients. Chemotherapy followed by surgical resection with modified radical mastectomy and postmastectomy radiation therapy resulted in excellent long-term local-regional control.

Summary: This study investigates the replacement and desmoplastic histopathological growth patterns (HGP) in uveal melanoma liver metastases (MUM). The presence of L1CAM and a laminin vascular network is associated with the aggressive replacement HGP phenotype. The adverse effect of replacement HGP on overall survival and metastasis-free survival is significant, suggesting its importance in understanding tumor spread mechanisms.

Summary: This study examines the patterns of care and oncologic outcomes in patients with gynecologic tract melanoma (GTM). The results show that GTM patients continue to have poor outcomes, particularly in terms of local disease control. More effective oncologic therapy is needed.
