Summary: Digital technologies have enabled the fabrication of various materials for occlusal splints. This study compared the fracture resistance of occlusal splints made from different materials and found that milled splints exhibited the highest strength, while 3D printed splints also showed acceptable fracture resistance, suggesting their potential clinical application.

Summary: Intracondylar T-type fractures of the distal humerus are rare in children and are usually treated with open reduction and internal fixation. Surgical approaches include triceps-sliding, triceps-splitting, and olecranon osteotomy. Patients younger than ten years old generally have better recovery outcomes.

Summary: The study proposed a standardized protocol for 3D-printed splints and assessed the precision of splints with different occlusal coverage depths. Results showed that deviations were more evident in the vertical dimension and pitch rotation, increasing as the occlusal coverage depth increased. Splints with 2-mm and 3-mm occlusal coverage depths are recommended for precision relative to clinical acceptability.

Summary: This study evaluated the changes in intra-articular spaces of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) in patients with temporomandibular disorders (TMD) after occlusal splint therapy combined with cranio-temporomandibular kinesiotherapy. The condylar ratio significantly increased after treatment, but the dimensions of anterior, superior, posterior, and medial joint spaces did not show statistically significant changes. Additionally, the condylar position did not significantly shift anteriorly after the combination therapy.

Summary: The mechanical properties of polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) and graphene-based PMMA with Zn and Ag were compared in this study. Scanning electron microscopy was used to analyze the samples before and after the mechanical test. The compression behavior, flexural properties, tensile strength, and shape of the PMMA variants were investigated and compared. The results showed no statistical difference in the mechanical properties of the samples, but the graphene-based PMMA displayed similar performance to commercially available PMMA and showed potential for future clinical use.

Summary: The study aimed to measure the polishability of occlusal splint materials manufactured by different methods. Results showed that vacuum-formed materials had the highest polishability, with no significant difference in surface hardness and elastic modulus compared to heat-cured or CAD-milled materials. The print angle of 3D-printed occlusal splint materials influenced polishability and surface hardness.

Summary: This study investigated the impact of occlusal contact situation and occlusal adjustment on wear, roughness, and fracture force of molar crowns. The results showed that resin composite crowns had higher wear area and depth, as well as lower fracture forces. Adjusted crowns exhibited increased wear areas and depths. For zirconia crowns, the adjustment resulted in greater wear area and depth, as well as lower fracture forces. These findings emphasize the importance of adapting occlusal design and adjustment to improve the performance and stability of zirconia and resin composite crowns.

Summary: This study investigated the volumetric and vertical loss of occlusal splints manufactured by conventional (heat-cure), subtractive (CAD/CAM) and additive (3D-printing) methods. The results showed that CAD-CAM material had the highest wear resistance, followed by heat-cured material. KeySplint Soft and FreePrint Splint 2.0 3D printed materials would be preferred for patients without severe bruxing episodes. No significant wear of human enamel was observed for any tested materials.

Summary: The propagation dynamics of two-dimensional Airy Gaussian beams and Airy Gaussian vortex beams in local and nonlocal nonlinear media were investigated numerically. The self-healing and collapse of the beams depend on the distribution factor b and the topological charge m. By utilizing nonlocality, stable Airy Gaussian beams and Airy Gaussian vortex beams with larger amplitudes can be obtained, which always collapse in local nonlinear media. When the distribution factor b is large enough, the Airy Gaussian vortex beam will transform into quasi-vortex solitons in nonlocal nonlinear media.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the clinical and pathological characteristics of small renal mass (SRM) and identify the risk factors that influence its metastasis and prognosis. The findings suggest that age, clinical symptoms, pathological nuclear grade, and lymphatic invasion are risk factors for distant metastasis of SRM. In terms of prognosis, older age, poor preoperative renal function, pathological vascular invasion, and metastasis are associated with worse overall survival (OS) in SRM patients.

Summary: This study presents a novel injectable system that incorporates stem cells from human exfoliated deciduous teeth (SHEDs) and simvastatin (SIM) into gelatin methacrylate (GelMA) cryogel microspheres (SMS). The system promotes SHEDs adhesion, proliferation, odontogenic differentiation, and angiogenic potential. Subcutaneous implantation of SHEDs/SMS induces vessel-rich pulp-like tissue regeneration, highlighting the potential for clinical application in endodontic regenerative dentistry.

Summary: This study investigated perioperative clinicopathological predictors and established a predictive nomogram for survival in patients with renal cell carcinoma and venous tumor thrombus undergoing nephrectomy and thrombectomy. The results showed that hemoglobin level, sarcomatoid feature, perirenal fat invasion, histological subtype, and metastasis at surgery were independently associated with overall survival. They developed a predictive nomogram that had a good predictive performance.

Summary: This study identified and characterized two La proteins (OsLa1 and OsLa2) in rice, which play important roles in rice growth and development. OsLa1 modulates grain size by influencing cell expansion, while mutant OsLa2 results in thin grains and low seed-setting rate. In addition, OsLa1 and OsLa2 interact with OseIF6.1 and OsLa1 can modulate the expression of OseIF6.1.

Summary: This study provides a comprehensive understanding of the mechanisms involved in tumor thrombus formation in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). The results show that tumor thrombus is marked by the presence of CD8(+) T cells with an exhausted phenotype and enhanced remodeling of the extracellular matrix. In contrast, proinflammatory states and increased expression of immunosuppressive markers are found in macrophages and malignant cells from primary tumors. The interactions between tumor and stroma reshape the extracellular matrix in tumor thrombus, which is associated with poor survival.

Summary: The study found that using GDM systems packed with Icelandic lava stones can efficiently treat wastewater and facilitate nitrogen removal efficiency through the presence of manganese oxide. The cleaning method significantly affects flux recovery and water permeability. Irrigating vegetables with GDM permeate has minimal impact on plant growth and heavy metal contents in soils compared to using tap water.
