Anisotropic solid dark energy

Josue Motoa-Manzano, J. Bayron Orjuela-Quintana, Thiago S. Pereira, Cesar A. Valenzuela-Toledo

Summary: This paper investigates a triad of inhomogeneous scalar fields, known as solid, as a source of homogeneous but anisotropic dark energy. The study finds that anisotropic accelerated solutions can be realized as attractor points for suitable choices of model parameters. Numerical solutions show that the model can describe significant spatial shear within observational bounds, even when set to zero at early times, and a particular region in the model's parameter space where the Universe isotropizes is identified.

Anisotropic k-essence

J. Bayron Orjuela-Quintana, Cesar A. Valenzuela-Toledo

Summary: This paper investigates the late time cosmology of a non-canonical scalar field coupled to a vector field in a Bianchi-I background, showing that anisotropic dark energy fixed points can be attractors for certain parameters and that oscillations in the equation of state of dark energy and shear may occur at late times when the coupling of the k-essence field to the vector field is strong enough.

An effective fluid description of scalar-vector-tensor theories under the sub-horizon and quasi-static approximations

Wilmar Cardona, J. Bayron Orjuela-Quintana, Cesar A. Valenzuela-Toledo

Summary: We investigated scalar-vector-tensor (SVT) theories with second-order equations of motion and tensor propagation speed equivalent to the speed of light. By utilizing sub-horizon and quasi-static approximations, we derived analytical formulae for various properties of the effective dark energy fluid, including sound speed, anisotropic stress, energy density, and pressure. We demonstrated that it is possible to design SVT cosmological models that are degenerate with Lambda CDM at the background level while exhibiting different gravity strength and non-zero dark energy perturbations. Furthermore, we implemented SVT designer models in a popular Boltzmann solver called CLASS, enabling the testing of SVT models against astrophysical observations. Our effective fluid approach to SVT models highlights interesting behaviors in the sound speed and the anisotropic stress, which warrant further investigation given the current discrepancies in cosmological parameters such as H-0 and sigma(8).

Reconstructing the parameter space of nonanalytical cosmological fixed points

Santiago Garcia-Serna, J. Bayron Orjuela-Quintana, Cesar A. Valenzuela-Toledo, Hernan Ocampo Duran

Summary: Dynamical system theory is widely used in cosmological model analysis. We present an example of a dark energy model where not all fixed points can be analytically found and propose a general scheme for numerical analysis of the parameter space. This work can serve as a template for analyzing highly complicated dynamical systems numerically.
