In this paper, we propose a chaotic image encryption algorithm using multi-generalized logistic maps, which can make use of the simple structure of low-dimensional chaotic system. The keystream is generated by three secret keys in three generalized logistic maps and is dependent on the plain-image size. Classical permutation and diffusion functions are adopted in the encryption process. Here, the diffusion operations are carried out by both positive and oppositive directions. We design the keys to influence with each other, so, three generalized logistic maps can perform in a way like an union similar to high-dimensional chaotic system. Simulations show the good efficiency of the proposed algorithm including large key space, sensitive to all keys, and good UACI and NPCR results. Therefore, our image encryption algorithm can give us a high efficient and strong secure way for communications on public place.
