Using semipermeable celloidin membrane as a basic template and organic reagents as cooperation additives, the CaCO3 crystals with different morphologies were successfully synthesized. All the products were characterized by transmission electron microscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, thermogravimetry, inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy, etc. With the view of the different solubility products (K-sp) of La-2(CO3)(3) and CaCO3, a novel core/shell CaCO3/La-2(CO3)(3) composited fluorescent material was synthesized for the first time. The morphologies and properties of the core/shell CaCO3/La-2(CO3)(3) composited fluorescent materials were also investigated.
