Summary: This study analyzed the influence of Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT) on patients with papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) and its effect on lymph node metastasis (LNM) in BRAF mutant tumors. The results showed that HT reduces the risk of LNM in PTC patients, especially for those with BRAF mutation. This research has important implications for treatment decisions by endocrinologists, oncologists, and surgeons.

Summary: The results indicate that CXCR4 overexpression is significantly associated with ulceration, tumor thickness, and lymph node metastasis in melanoma, suggesting its involvement in disease progression and metastasis, which may warrant further clinical studies to explore its potential as a diagnostic and therapeutic biomarker for melanoma cancer.

Summary: This study identified risk factors for cervical lymph node metastasis in multifocality papillary thyroid cancer (MPTC), including gender, extrathyroidal extension (ETE), age, maximal axial diameter (MAD), and the sum of axial diameters (SAD). Patients with these risk factors were recommended to undergo prophylactic central lymph node dissection (CLND). Additionally, CLNM, ETE, MAD, and SAD were found to be independent risk factors for lateral lymph node metastasis (LLNM) in MPTC.

Summary: In this study, the expression and clinical significance of HIF1A in PTC were investigated. HIF1A overexpression was found to be associated with lymph node metastasis and unfavorable prognosis in PTC patients. The study also revealed the involvement of immune- and stroma-related pathways in the prognostic impact of HIf1A in PTC.

Summary: Endoscopic surgery is commonly used for EGC treatment, but LNM remains a significant risk factor for relapse. The study found that GNE expression is down-regulated in EGC patients with LNM. Combining GNE expression with other predictive factors can improve the accuracy of LNM prediction in EGC patients.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the impact of N stage subclassification on different distant metastasis sites based on age stratification, especially for patients with papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC). The results showed that the risk of distant metastasis increased with the progress of N disease, and N1b disease had a higher risk of lung metastasis in younger patients and an increased risk of both lung and bone metastasis in older patients. N1a disease did not increase the risk of distant metastasis in PTMC patients. Combining N stage with risk stratification can be beneficial for predicting distant metastasis.

Summary: This study developed and validated an ultrasound radiomics nomogram for predicting the risk of cervical lymph node metastasis in patients with micropapillary thyroid microcarcinoma (mPTMC) based on factors such as sex, age, tumor size, invasion, and ultrasound scores. The model showed favorable predictive value and reliability, and can assist in surgical decision making.

Summary: Parathyroid carcinoma is a rare endocrine malignancy with poor outcomes. Surgery is the main treatment, but the optimal extent of surgery remains inconclusive. This study investigated the patterns and predictors of cervical lymph node metastasis in parathyroid carcinoma patients. The results showed that the percentage of cervical lymph node metastasis was 19.4% at initial surgery and 25.0% including reoperations. High-risk Schulte staging and CDC73 abnormalities were identified as risk factors for cervical lymph node metastasis.

Summary: This study developed and validated a nomogram for predicting lateral lymph node metastasis in medullary thyroid carcinoma patients. Significant risk factors for LLNM in MTC patients included male sex, tumor size >38mm, multifocality, extrathyroidal extension, and distant metastasis. The nomogram showed good discrimination and clinical utility in predicting LLNM.

Summary: A risk scoring system based on clinical and imaging findings was developed and validated to predict lymph node metastasis from HPV+ oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinomas. The system showed good discriminative ability and calibration in both training and test sets, and is expected to aid in clinical decision-making.

Summary: This study evaluated the relevance of large-volume lateral lymph node metastases (LLNMs) and recurrent/persistent risk in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) patients. The study found that patients with large-volume LLNM had a significantly higher risk of recurrence/persistence compared to those with low-volume LLNM. Multilevel suspected LLNMs and loss of fatty hilum were identified as preoperative indicative factors of large-volume LLNM.
