Summary: Unhealthy lifestyles and changes in body composition among non-Hodgkin's lymphoma survivors may increase the risk of metabolic syndrome and sarcopenia. Early nutritional intervention, along with adequate physical activity and healthier lifestyle, should be recommended during follow-up to reduce the risk of MetSyn onset and associated diseases in the long term.

Summary: This study aims to explore the shared genomic basis between common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL), in order to better understand the immunodeficiency phenotype of CVID in NHL. The study found that NHL samples harbored genetic variants associated with CVID, indicating the existence of shared pathological mechanisms and signaling pathways.

Summary: This study investigated the value of tumor measurements in predicting treatment outcomes for Hodgkin's and Non-Hodgkin's lymphomas. Results showed that while SUVmax was the strongest prognostic indicator, automated metabolic tumor volume measurements and expert's metabolic maximum diameter measurements also provided valuable insights. Anatomic tumor measurements had poor prognostic value. The study suggests a paradigm shift towards identifying robust prognostic markers in PET/CT with the use of radiomics.

Summary: This ecological study investigates the link between COVID-19 incidence, socio-economic covariates, and NHL incidence. The results show that COVID-19 cumulative incidence is positively associated with past NHL incidence, socioeconomic deprivation, and proportion of elderly residents, while negatively associated with urban residency. Further investigation is needed to explore shared susceptibility factors among the plausible underlying mechanisms.

Summary: Current lung cancer clinical research focuses on biomarkers and personalized treatment strategies. Adaptive clinical trial designs, such as the seamless phase II/III design, have been used to reduce the total sample size and drug development time. A systematic review identified 28 eligible trials using this design, with the majority being open-label, involving non-small cell lung cancer patients, evaluating targeted therapies and/or immunotherapies, and recruiting patients with advanced disease.

Summary: The purpose of this literature review is to investigate the possible connection between specific food difficulties and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) during the first two years of life. A total of 21 studies (3763 infants and children) were analyzed, and the results suggest a link between ASD and difficulties during breastfeeding, breast milk refusal, and avoidance of solid foods. Infants with ASD have been identified as picky eaters, and problematic mealtime behavior during infancy has also been associated with ASD. Overall, this review highlights the association between food difficulties, including problematic mealtime behaviors, food selectivity, breastfeeding difficulties, and food refusal, during early life and ASD.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of internalizing problems among adolescents from five European countries and compare it with various risk factors. Analysis of data from the European Network for Adolescent Behavior survey revealed that Greece and Romania had the lowest rates of internalizing problems, while Iceland had the highest. Internalizing problems were associated with lower school grades and higher parental education levels. The socio-cultural context of each country influenced the variations in adolescents' internalizing problems.

Summary: Human cases of West Nile virus (WNV) infections have been recorded in Greece since 2010, with seasonal outbreaks on an almost annual basis, caused mainly by the WNV lineage 2 strain. The National Public Health Organization (NPHO) in Greece implements enhanced surveillance to identify human cases of WNV infection and monitor its distribution. The study aims to monitor mosquito species composition, abundance, and WNV circulation.

Summary: The International Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD) recommends the use of metformin (MET) for metabolic disturbances and hyperglycemia in children and adolescents. However, a potential concern of MET therapy is vitamin B-12 deficiency, which has mainly been observed in studies conducted on adults. In this case-control study, it was found that children and adolescents on MET therapy had suboptimal intake of vitamin B-12 and may experience synergistic reduction in circulating vitamin B-12 concentrations when paired with MET. Therefore, caution is needed when prescribing MET for this age group and vitamin B-12 replacement may be necessary.

Summary: Adolescent classical ballet dancers are at risk of nutritional vulnerability due to their need to maintain a lean body shape during a period of rapid growth. Research on adult dancers has shown a high risk of disordered eating behaviors (DEBs), but there is limited research on adolescent dancers. This study compared body composition, dietary habits, and DEBs between female adolescent classical ballet dancers and their non-dancer peers. Results showed that the dancers had lower weight, BMIs, and body circumferences, along with leaner skinfolds and less fat mass compared to the controls. However, no significant differences were found in eating habits and DEB scores between the two groups, although 23.3% of participants scored >= 20 on the Eating Attitudes Test-26 (EAT-26), indicating the presence of DEBs.

Summary: Adolescents are exposed to various forms of food marketing, such as television, social media, and video games. This review analyzed scientific studies from 2017 to 2022 to examine the influence of nutrition-related advertisements on adolescents' choice and consumption of unhealthy foods and drinks. The majority of included studies found that adolescents exposed to unhealthy food and beverage advertising demonstrated a strong desire and intention to consume the advertised products. These effects were influenced by peer pressure, influencers, and various socioeconomic, biological, and environmental factors. Food marketing plays a significant role in the obesogenic environment.

Summary: Recently, there has been an increased focus on the psychosocial aspects of food allergy (FA) in addition to medical diagnosis and treatment. This systematic review examined the scientific evidence on Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) among children and adolescents with FAs from January 2015 to April 2022. The review included 28 research studies from three databases and found that most children and adolescents with FAs had average levels of HRQoL, with girls and older children experiencing more negative impacts. Few studies compared HRQoL between children with FA and healthy children, but some showed worse HRQoL for children with FAs. Immunotherapy was found to improve the QoL of children with FAs, while factors such as anaphylaxis history and severity of symptoms negatively impacted QoL. More comparative studies are needed to improve the QoL of children with FAs.

Summary: Psychosocial interventions for post-traumatic growth (PTG) in adults with cancer show promise, with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-based interventions, and Education, Peer Support and Health Coaching interventions being the most effective. Expression-based and Positive Psychology-based approaches also show promising results. However, many studies have a high risk of bias.
