Summary: Patients who received knee injections within 1 month before arthroscopic meniscectomy had a doubled risk of postoperative infections compared to those who did not receive injections, while injections administered more than 1 month prior to surgery were not significantly associated with postoperative surgical-site infection.

Summary: The study showed false-negative results in both in vitro and in vivo aspiration tests using 30G needles containing filler, while needles containing saline or air produced positive results. Pre-filling the needle lumen with saline instead of filler can reduce the incidence of false-negative results.

Summary: Hyaluronic acid (HA) is widely used in various medical fields. This article provides a comprehensive overview of the use of HA in andrology. The results suggest that HA can effectively enhance penile diameter and may be an alternative treatment for premature ejaculation and Peyronie's disease. However, more robust evidence is needed to establish a consensus and improve injection techniques and HA products in andrology.

Summary: This study compared the ultrasound-guided targeted and flooding protocols for managing adverse vascular events following hyaluronic acid-based aesthetic injections. The results showed that the ultrasound-guided targeted protocol utilized less hyaluronidase and restored clinical symptoms faster.

Summary: For patients with knee osteoarthritis, intra-articular corticosteroids provide acute and short-term pain relief, while hyaluronic acid offers longer-term treatment effects. More research is needed before platelet-rich plasma and stem cell therapies can be widely recommended for knee osteoarthritis patients. Several new injectables, such as antienerve growth factor antibodies, Wnt pathway inhibitors, and capsaicin, are showing promise to enter the market soon.

Summary: This study compared the efficacy of platelet-rich plasma, ozone, and hyaluronic acid in treating knee osteoarthritis through reticulated meta-analysis. The results showed that platelet-rich plasma injection was more effective than ozone and hyaluronic acid therapies. The combination of hyaluronic acid and ozone, as well as platelet-rich plasma and hyaluronic acid, were also more effective than monotherapy with ozone or hyaluronic acid. Additionally, platelet-rich plasma was found to be more effective than ozone and hyaluronic acid when used alone in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis.

Summary: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of hypertonic dextrose prolotherapy compared to hyaluronic acid for knee osteoarthritis. The results showed that there were no significant differences in pain control between the two treatments in the short-term. However, in the subanalysis that included only the studies using intra-articular injection within the prolotherapy scheme, prolotherapy was found to have a positive effect on pain reduction and improvement of function. Better-quality clinical trials are still needed.

Summary: This study systematically reviews models that aim to provide patient-specific predictions of pre-treatment rebleeding risk in patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage. The reported discriminative performance of the models varied, and no model showed consistently low bias risk and clinical applicability in all domains. Only one model was formulated using a patient cohort that underwent contemporary, evidence-based aneurysm treatment practices, but this model lacked calibration or clinical utility.
