Summary: Characterization of plutonium dioxide (PuO2) and thorium dioxide (ThO2) aging under different temperature and relative humidity conditions revealed significant stability differences between actinide oxides, providing important insights for nuclear forensic applications and fundamental safety and storage concerns. The study used a variety of techniques, including scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction, to analyze the morphological and phase changes in the materials, highlighting the need for further research on the chemical and physical properties of actinide compounds near ambient temperatures and humidities.

Summary: The electrodeposition of Ni-Cu and Ni-Cu-P films on steel electrodes was controlled by activation at lower current densities and diffusion limitations at higher current densities. Hydrogen evolution reaction was more intense over Ni-Cu-P films, leading to lower efficiency compared to Ni-Cu films. The composition and morphology of the films varied depending on the deposition control and efficiency.

Summary: Different synthesis approaches and conditions for misfit layer compounds (MLCs) in the ternary systems V-Se-Bi, V-Se-Pb, and V-Se-Sn were compared. The best results were achieved with NH4Cl as a crystallisation aid, moderate annealing temperatures, and longer annealing durations. The study discussed the compositions, morphology, and structure, and found that either plate-like or tubelike MLC crystals could be obtained depending on the stacking sequence of the compounds. The structural properties of MLC (PbSe)1+delta VSe2 were comparable to the corresponding ferecrystals in the literature.

Summary: In this study, Yttrium-doped Barium Titanate (Y-BT) perovskite ceramics were synthesized using the sol-gel method and their structural, electrical, and optical properties were investigated. The results showed that the crystallite size of Y-BT initially increased with Y-doping, but decreased with further increase in Y3+ concentration. The Yttrium doping enhanced the dielectric properties and optical band gap energy of the materials.

Summary: This study investigated the influence of gallium addition on the phases formed in Al-Mn alloys during casting, revealing that an increase in gallium content led to the formation of IQCs and DQCs in the alloys. Microanalysis showed that IQCs contained more gallium and less manganese compared to DQCs.

Summary: This study investigated the decomposition process of the isothermal alpha '' phase in beta-Ti alloys, and found that the resulting alpha + beta dual phase inherited the microstructural characteristics of the alpha ''(iso) phase. The research results indicate the existence of a strict variant selection rule between the decomposed alpha and beta phases, with a specific variant combination observed.

Summary: Phosphors of Lu2.94Al5O12:0.06Ce3+ prepared via a sol-gel process showed significantly enhanced photoluminescence properties under different synthesizing temperatures and fluoride fluxes, resulting in green-yellow emissions due to Ce3+ transitions. Among them, the 6 wt% BaF2-added Lu2.94Al5O12:0.06Ce3+ phosphor synthesized at 1400 degrees C exhibited the highest emission intensity, 173% stronger than that of the flux-free phosphor.

Summary: The microstructure and hydrogen storage properties of as-cast and annealed TiFe-6 wt % ZrCr2 alloy samples were investigated. Both samples exhibited three phases, with the amount of TiFe2 significantly reduced and fragmented in the annealed sample. Both samples were able to be hydrogenated under 31 bar of hydrogen at room temperature, with the annealed sample requiring an incubation period of around 40 hours.

Summary: In this study, single phase powders of green emitting Ba2LiSi7-xAlxN12-xOx:Eu2+ phosphor were successfully prepared by controlling starting compositions, annealing conditions, and reaction vessels. The emission peak shifted depending on the Eu concentration, with the highest intensity observed at 3 at%. The phosphor exhibited a small thermal quenching of luminescence intensity and showed a high internal quantum efficiency of 93% when washed with hydrochloric acid solution.
