Nano-sphere hexagonal mesoporous solid (La-HMS) was synthesized by in situ incorporation and molecular self-assembly successfully for the first time. X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEMI), N-2 ad-desorption, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS) and Raman were used to characterize the as-synthesized samples. The sphere-like particles with hexagonal mesopores structure were observed clearly from the TEM images. The particle size was smaller than 50 nm and distributed uniformly in the whole region. The specific surface area (S-BET) of La-HMS was about 982 m(2) g(-1). The self-assembly mechanism was also investigated. (C) 2009 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
