A new Coccomyces species found on fallen leaves of Millettia dielsiana at Mt Sanqingshan, Jiangxi province, China, is described as Coccomyces alienus. This taxon is distinguished from all other Coccomyces taxa by having two types of paraphyses. The type specimen is deposited in the Reference Collection of Forest Fungi of Anhui Agricultural University, China (AAUF).
