Summary: Self-efficacy strongly predicts clinical performance and competence. In Taiwan, there is no reliable method for assessing self-efficacy in the management of pressure injury. This study aimed to establish the psychometric properties of the Pressure Ulcer Management Self-Efficacy Scale (PUM-SES) translated for Taiwan and determine its validity and reliability. The results showed that PUM-SES-T is a valid instrument for intervention-related educational programs to measure self-efficacy with good reliability and validity, which can be utilized in related education strategies or promoting policies.

Summary: This study aimed to determine the effect of mindfulness-based programs on pregnant women's fear of childbirth (FOC) and self-efficacy. Through a systematic search and meta-analysis, it was found that mindfulness-based exercises may improve childbirth self-efficacy and reduce the level of FOC in pregnant women. However, more rigorous randomized controlled trials are needed to confirm the effectiveness of mindfulness-based interventions, especially on self-efficacy.

Summary: This study explored the relationship between health literacy (HL) and continuing breastfeeding (BF) at 6 months post-partum. Results showed that health literacy levels and BF effectiveness were adequate before hospital discharge, but less than half the sample still exclusively breastfed at 6 months post-partum. The main reason for early exclusive BF cessation was lower than the recommended newborn weight gain, and health literacy level acted as a protective factor against abandonment of BF.

Summary: This paper examines the reliability and validity of the Abbreviated Mental Test (AMT) and its agreement with the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE). A cross-sectional study was conducted on 446 older adults using cluster sampling method. The study found that the AMT administered by village health volunteers had a much lower rate of detecting cognitive impairment compared to when it was administered by trained professionals. The sensitivity and specificity of the AMT relative to the MMSE were moderate (78.83% and 66.67%, respectively).

Summary: The study evaluated the results of the Abbreviated Mental Test and Mini Mental State Examination in older adults in Thailand's national cognitive assessment, finding that the AMT was more stringent in screening for cognitive impairment compared to the MMSE but with lower sensitivity. It is suggested that cognitive screening administered by nurses should be considered to help detect cognitive impairment in older adults living in the community.
