Summary: A surgical navigation system is important for surgeons to understand anatomical structures during surgery. In this study, a compensation method using a database was proposed to reduce registration error in laparoscopic surgery navigation. The method involved analyzing positional information and averaging difference matrices computed from fiducial markers. The results demonstrated that the proposed method significantly decreased target registration error and improved the accuracy of laparoscopic surgery navigation.

Summary: This study found that early fulfillment of patient expectations at 3 months and 6 months was associated with satisfaction at 1 year and 2 years. Comparisons with a large contemporary database revealed that robotic-assisted total knee arthroplasty showed greater improvements in KOOS sub-scores and in absolute Sports and Recreation, indicating that it meets or exceeds current standard of care benchmarks.

Summary: This study aimed to compare the accuracy of patient-specific spinal drill guides (3DPGs) and computer-assisted surgery (CAS) in screw insertion in the spine. The results showed that 3DPGs were non-inferior to CAS in terms of entry-point accuracy and 3D angular accuracy, demonstrating their potential as a navigational technique in spinal fixation.

Summary: The study found a lower prevalence of suprascapular neuropathy among elite volleyball players compared to previous decades. The popularity of the jump topspin serve may contribute to the reduction in neuropathy frequency. The findings suggest that coaches and athletes should consider using this serving technique for the prevention of activity-related injuries.

Summary: There were no significant differences in serum markers elevation between a minimally invasive direct anterior approach (DAA) and a direct lateral approach (DLA) for total hip arthroplasty. However, the DAA group had significantly lower levels of postoperative pain. No significant correlation was present between the serum marker elevations and age, BMI, HHS, operative time, HB or pain levels.

Summary: A renewed interest in anterior cruciate ligament preservation has led to the use of arthroscopic primary repair in patients with proximal tears, but controlling rotational instability remains a concern. Segond fracture, although rare, can lead to continued rotation instability in cases of acute anterolateral instability. This study aims to describe the surgical technique for repairing both the anterior cruciate ligament and Segond fracture acutely.
