Summary: The study indicates the important role of SIRT3 in glucocorticoid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head. Resveratrol can reduce oxidative stress and mitochondrial damage by activating SIRT3, and promote osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs through the AMPK/PGC-1 alpha/SIRT3 axis. Resveratrol administration can prevent GIONFH, enhance SIRT3 expression, and reduce oxidative levels in affected rats.

Summary: Osteonecrosis of femoral head (ONFH) is a common clinical condition that can be easily diagnosed through imaging examination. However, some rare neoplastic lesions of the femoral head can mimic ONFH, leading to misdiagnosis. We present a case of a 57-year-old male with bone pain in the left hip joint, initially diagnosed as ONFH but later found to be phosphaturic mesenchymal tumor (PMT) through histopathologic analysis. Surgery resulted in significant pain relief, and the patient had an uneventful 1-year follow-up.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the relevant factors of postoperative avascular necrosis of the femoral head (AVN) in children with femoral neck fracture. The study found that there were significant differences in displacement degree and reduction quality in relation to the occurrence of AVN, while sex, age distribution, fracture classification, surgery timing, and mechanism of injury did not significantly differ. Logistic regression analysis showed that displacement degree was a relevant risk factor for AVN occurrence.

Summary: This study assessed the feasibility of using gadobutrol-based steady-state (SS) MR angiography (MRA) to evaluate the blood supply changes of osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH). The results showed significant differences in the number and affected rates of retinacular arteries between different stages of ONFH. Compared to healthy hips, ONFH hips also showed significant differences in the number and affected rates of retinacular arteries. Therefore, gadobutrol-enhanced SS MRA is a feasible method for evaluating the hemodynamics in ONFH and is clinically relevant for the diagnosis and treatment guidance of ONFH.

Summary: The main objective of this research is to explore new possibilities in electrodeposition and provide environmentally friendly alternatives to the electroplating industry. The influence of different anions (SO42-, ClO3-, NO3-, ClO4-, BF4-, PF6-) in solution on the electrodeposition of copper was investigated. The solutions used in the study were designed to minimize environmental impact and reduce the reliance on organic additives and surfactants. The research employed electrochemical measurements to confirm the absence of metal complexation, and evaluated nucleation and growth mechanisms, as well as the morphology and deposition efficiency of the electrodeposited films.

Summary: A method is described for determining the intermetallic diffusion coefficient in the Cu-Au system using energy dispersive X-ray techniques. XRF and EDS analysis were used to measure the thickness of the gold coating and the copper diffused through it, respectively. The diffusion coefficient was calculated based on Fick's law, and alternative methods such as color measurements and metallographic section analysis were performed for a qualitative determination of diffusion rate. The results obtained showed a linear trend between the logarithm of the diffusion coefficient and the inverse of the temperature, consistent with literature values.

Summary: Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) is a widely used process for protective and hard coatings in various industrial applications. While previously dominated by electroplating processes, PVD has recently emerged in fields like fashion. The future aims to replace hazardous electrochemical processes restricted by the European Union with PVD coatings. Currently, a combination of both techniques is employed for new aesthetic features, making PVD of primary interest in the decorative field and fashion industry.
