Summary: Both MPCNL and RPLU have similar surgical success and stone clearance rates in treating impacted proximal ureteral stones larger than 15 mm. However, patients undergoing MPCNL experienced lower post-operative pain and faster recovery than those undergoing RPLU.

Summary: The objective of this study is to investigate the efficacy and safety of laparoscopic ureterolithotomy operation in elderly patients with large and impacted ureteral stones. The results showed a high stone-free rate and acceptable complication rates, suggesting that laparoscopic ureterolithotomy can be considered as the first treatment option for elderly patients with impacted and large ureteral stones.

Summary: Preoperative Double-J ureteral stenting before flexible ureterorenoscopy can reduce operation time and increase stone-free rate on the first day after surgery, but it may not improve the stone-free rate in the first month after surgery or reduce the complication rate.

Summary: This study reviewed the experience of performing transperitoneal laparoscopic ureterolithotomy (TPLU) on 60 patients with proximal ureteric stones larger than 15 mm. The results showed that TPLU is a safe option for managing these stones with good outcomes and acceptable complication rates, whether as a primary procedure or salvage procedure.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate whether preoperative administration of silodosin can facilitate the placement of ureteral access sheath (UAS) prior to flexible ureteroscopy (F-URS) and reduce the occurrence of ureteric injury. The results showed that the administration of silodosin effectively reduced ureteral wall injury and postoperative discomfort. Silodosin, age, and operative time were identified as significant risk factors for ureteral wall injury.

Summary: This prospective observational study aimed to predict the risk of ureteral endometriosis based on preoperative findings. The results showed that factors such as adenomyosis, parametrial involvement, and previous endometriosis surgery were associated with a higher probability of ureteral involvement in women with posterior deep infiltrating endometriosis.
