Electrochemical copolymerization of pyrrole-N-methyl pyrrole has been carried out galvanostatically on platinum substrate. The polypyrrole-poly (n-methylpyrrole) composite films were subjected to electrical, spectral and morphological characterizations. Glucose biosensor was further fabricated based on the immobilization of glucose-oxidase in the composite films by crosslinking via glutaraldehyde. The effect of phosphate and acetate buffer was investigated. The biosensor exhibited an excellent linear response for a wide range of glucose concentration from 0mM to 50mM in both the buffers at pH 7.4. However, the sensitivity of the developed biosensor in the presence of a phosphate buffer was found to be higher.
