Summary: This study examines how an individual's multiple identities influence their decision making process when choosing a tourism destination. It suggests that different aspects of one's identity can generate distinct yet conflicting emotions. For example, perceiving admiration and animosity from a social audience simultaneously may result in ambivalence and greater uncertainty in decision making. The findings indicate that tourists with higher levels of ambivalence towards specific destination countries are more likely to cancel or postpone their travel plans. Furthermore, the study reveals that the economic development of the destination country and a tourist's pursuit of material happiness can moderate the relationships between identities, emotions, and travel intentions.

Summary: Affective ambivalence refers to experiencing opposite emotions simultaneously. Nostalgia, according to historical writings, can be conceptualized as an ambivalent emotion. Empirical evidence supports the idea that nostalgia is an ambivalent emotion, although more positive than negative. Implications and future research directions are discussed.

Summary: As robots become more common, they need to work with human teams and adapt to human behavior for successful collaboration. Research aims to raise awareness of co-adaptation to facilitate team learning. A physical human-robot task environment is used to explore emergent human-robot co-adaptions and derive interaction patterns.

Summary: Recent research shows different cognitive patterns and coping mechanisms are associated with increased Internet use and emotional distress in adolescents. Maladaptive coping strategies and Internet use were found to be significant predictors of dysfunctional negative emotions, and passive wishful thinking was linked to anxious and depressed feelings. The relationship between Internet use and dysfunctional negative emotions was mediated by participants' coping mechanisms.

Summary: Ethics in substance use disorder research has expanded to include both neuro-ethics and social ethics. Qualitative research methods provide valuable descriptive knowledge, but ethical principles and decision-making can be unclear. Incorporating case studies, interviews, focus groups or visual methods can enrich substance use disorder research. This paper explores conducting qualitative research with substance users and the need for ethical frameworks. Understanding potential dilemmas and challenges will contribute to the qualitative research in this field.

Summary: Ambivalence, feeling both positivity and negativity at the same time, is an uncomfortable but necessary catalyst for behavior change. Instructed emotion regulation of positive and negative affect can reduce feelings of ambivalence, with negative emotions being harder to regulate compared to positive ones, indicating a negativity bias in affective processing.

Summary: Emoji have significant potential for emotion research and are suitable for cross-cultural studies. In the context of food and beverage, certain emoji like the face savoring food and clapping hands were found to be highly appropriate, while others like zzz and oncoming fist were considered the least suitable for use.

Summary: Emotional entanglements between researchers and participants are unavoidable in qualitative research, and should be seen as ethical moments for researchers to reconsider and update their tools, rather than problems to be avoided.

Summary: This article explores the determinants of patients' prescription adherence behaviors, finding that basic knowledge and understanding of prescription instructions are crucial for adherence and can be improved through better communication. However, there are various other factors that influence adherence, some of which can be influenced through tailored communication messages from healthcare workers. These messages may contribute to changes in adherence behavior, but additional interventions may be needed for effectiveness.

Summary: This paper highlights the importance of recognizing the value and necessity of qualitative data in climate and ocean change research, despite its underappreciated role. By investigating adaptation in Norwegian coastal fisheries, the study demonstrates how different qualitative interview techniques can reveal contradictory statements from fishers about their concerns on climate change, shedding light on masked climate concerns and the reasons behind them.

Summary: This meta-synthesis explores the experiences of individuals with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in receiving a diagnosis and aims to obtain a conceptual understanding of adjustment to the diagnosis. The study finds that people go through emotional turmoil and difficulties during the diagnosis process, but support resources and adaptive coping strategies facilitate the adjustment process. It also identifies unmet emotional and informational support needs that, if addressed, could enhance adjustment to the diagnosis.

Summary: This study aimed to reveal how parents use food and drinks to soothe their children when they are crying or bored. It was found that this method makes children more sensitive to external stimuli and more inclined towards unhealthy foods. Therefore, mothers should be provided with information and support to use alternative methods to soothe their children and develop coping strategies.

Summary: The persistence of ineffectiveness in online communities is a common issue. Previous studies have overlooked the alignment difficulties between individual and collective interests and behaviors, as well as the coping behaviors of community members towards ineffectiveness. Taking a multilevel and coping effects perspective provides a better understanding of the ongoing issue of ineffectiveness.

Summary: The study examines the dynamics of power and conflict in inter-organisational information systems development projects, highlighting how the organizational setup forms a foundational system from which specific power practices emerge. These power practices, such as hiding, storytelling, and bargaining, have both restrictive and productive effects on conflict, but they cannot easily escape the confines of the foundational system, leading to the resurfacing of different manifestations of latent conflict.
