Summary: Using WGCNA and random forest algorithm, this study identified nine gene signatures associated with the exacerbation of Ulcerative colitis (UC). A novel genotyping scheme was constructed to predict the severity of UC and screen UC patients suitable for CS-IV treatment. Furthermore, a small molecule drug (Exisulind) with potential therapeutic effects for UC was identified, providing new ideas and materials for personalized clinical treatment plans for UC patients.

Summary: This study utilized microarray bioinformatic analysis to identify potential biomarkers of AD by analyzing six microarray datasets of AD patients and control groups. The results identified CXCR4, TGFB1, ITGB1, MYH11, and SELE genes as hub genes in this study. These genes were significantly enriched in actin cytoskeleton regulation, ECM-receptor interaction, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Additionally, multiple miRNAs exhibited significant interactions with most of the hub genes.

Summary: In this study, miRNA biomarkers for diabetic retinopathy (DR) were predicted and the pathological mechanism of DR was explored through bioinformatics analysis. The differentially expressed miRNAs and mRNAs identified in this study could serve as diagnostic markers and important RNA regulatory pathways in DR.

Summary: Complete spontaneous tumor regression is a common phenomenon in animals and humans, and we have developed a computational model to study this process. We investigated the factors involved in tumor regression and found that it can be achieved through a negative-bias shift in tumor cell population trajectory and temporal alteration in antitumor components. These findings provide insight into the potential for replicating spontaneous tumor regression clinically.

Summary: This study evaluated the relationship between FBLN5 and carotid atherosclerotic plaque stability and identified the upstream regulatory factors of FBLN5. It found that FBLN5 plays a key role in plaque stability and that hsa-mir-128 and hsa-mir-532-3p are the upstream regulatory factors of FBLN5.

Summary: The study demonstrates the successful identification of optimal biomarkers with minimum redundancy for predicting phenotypic toxicity endpoints using time series toxicomics in-vitro assay and machine learning methods. High prediction accuracy was achieved in both in-vivo carcinogenicity and Ames genotoxicity prediction, indicating the potential of this approach in advancing predictive toxicology for environmental and health applications.

Summary: Breast cancer is the most frequent cancer in women globally. This study explored new biomarkers for breast cancer diagnosis and found that CCNB1 expression was higher in breast cancer tissues compared to normal tissues. CCNB1 was significantly related to survival time, tumor mutation burden, and other factors in breast cancer. The ACO26401.3/CCNB1-miR-139-5p axis was identified as a promising upstream pathway related to CCNB1 in breast cancer.
