Summary: Evaporation residue cross sections for heavy-ion fusion reactions were calculated using the dinuclear system model combined with the statistical model. The calculated results reproduced the experimental trends of various 3n and 4n channel cross sections. The 54Cr + 248Cm reaction was found to be the optimal choice for synthesizing superheavy nuclei with maximum cross sections of 17.58 and 1.09 fb in the 3n and 4n channels, respectively. However, the predicted cross sections for the 54Cr + 248Cm reaction channel are below the detectable limit of currently available facilities, requiring improvements in beam intensities, detection techniques, and efficient separation.

Summary: In the past seven years, dual Z-scheme hetero-junctions have emerged as favorable approaches for enhancing charge carrier separation through direct or indirect charge transfer. Understanding the dynamics of charge transfer is crucial for comprehending their photoactivity and stability, and a universal charge transfer-based classification of dual Z-schemes is proposed for different energy and pollution remediation strategies. Additionally, the existence of dual Z-schemes is confirmed using methods for determining charge transfer, and a new macroscopic N-scheme and triple Z-scheme heterostructures composed of four semiconductors are suggested for generating both oxidatively and reductively empowered systems, with potential applications in solar-driven chemical reactions.

Summary: The capture and evaporation residue cross sections for heavy ion fusion reactions were calculated using the dinuclear system model. The results were in good agreement with experimental data. A comparative analysis between different projectiles showed the possibility of synthesizing superheavy nuclei with Z = 114-118 using the Cr-54 projectile. However, to synthesize superheavy nuclei with Z > 118, experimental efforts must focus on increasing beam intensity and improving separation and detection techniques.

Summary: This study explores the alpha-decay of superheavy nuclei using the generalized liquid-drop model (GLDM) with microscopic shell correction from relativistic Hartree-Fock (RHF) calculations. The results show that the calculated alpha-decay half-lives agree better with experimental data than those from the GLDM with the shell correction in the Weizsacker-Skyrme model. The influence of the decay energy Q(alpha) on alpha-decay is also investigated, and it is found that the Q(alpha) values obtained from the WS4 model with radial basis function (RBF) correction match the experimental data optimally. The GLDM with RHF shell correction and WS4+RBF Q(alpha) values is adopted to predict the alpha-decay life-time for unknown superheavy nuclei with Z = 118-120. The trend of the available alpha-decay half-lives according to the neutron number is similar to the trends of the values from the GLDM calculation without shell correction as well as the universal decay law (UDL) formula.

Summary: In this study, an eco-friendly procedure was developed for the efficient synthesis of 2-imino-5-(1-alkyl-2-oxoindolin-3-ylidene) thiazolidin-4-one derivatives using a stereospecific coupling reaction. The method allowed for the synthesis of various new thiazolidin-oxindole derivatives with potential medicinal applications in a cost-effective manner, emphasizing sustainable chemistry. The products obtained exhibited high yields and purity after washing with water and ethanol. This study presents a simple and rapid protocol for the condensation of pseudothiohydantoin with substituted isatins, and the computational calculations validated the stereospecificity of the Z-isomer formation.
