Summary: This article introduces a nonlinear observer-based method for estimating exhaust manifold pressure in gasoline engines with an exhaust gas recirculation system. The proposed observer is able to accurately estimate the pressure at arbitrary initial values, improving fault detection efficiency in the exhaust gas recirculation system.
