Summary: Endometrial cancer is the most common gynecological malignancy in high- and middle-income countries, with a tendency for high-grade cancers to recur. Tailoring treatment to tumor biology is crucial for balancing efficacy and toxicity, with molecular factors increasingly used for defining prognosis and treatment. Standard treatment includes surgery and adjuvant therapy based on risk factors, with chemotherapy particularly used in non-endometrioid cancers and those with TP53 mutation.

Summary: This study found that radiotherapy for primary pelvic cancers is associated with a higher risk of developing second corpus uteri cancer (SCUC). The incidence of SCUC was higher in patients who received radiotherapy compared to the general population, while the incidence was lower in patients who did not receive radiotherapy. The overall survival rate was lower in patients who developed SCUC after radiotherapy. Therefore, it is recommended that patients who undergo pelvic radiotherapy, especially young patients, should be closely monitored for the risk of developing SCUC.

Summary: Since the publication of the 2018 FIGO Cancer Report, significant progress has been made in reducing the burden of cervical cancer globally, with initiatives such as the WHO's global strategy for cervical cancer elimination, HPV vaccination programs, and wider implementation of HPV testing. While these interventions will take time to show their impact, over half a million new cases of cervical cancer are still added each year.

Summary: The objective of this study is to evaluate the global distribution, risk factors, and temporal trends of corpus uteri cancer for different countries and age groups. Data from the Global Cancer Observatory database, Cancer Incidence in Five Continents, and the WHO mortality database were analyzed to calculate age-standardized rates and estimate the annual average percent change. The results showed a substantial increasing trend of corpus uteri cancer, with high-income countries having the highest incidence. Intensive lifestyle modifications are needed, especially among younger women.

Summary: The pathogenicity of B. pumilus strains isolated from cows with and without endometritis was evaluated in this study using a cell-culture-based approach. These strains were found to possess specific genes related to enzyme production and caused damage to endometrial bovine cells in a dose-dependent manner. These findings have important implications for understanding the role of this pathogen in the disease.

Summary: This study explores the potential link between oxidative stress and uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC). The results demonstrate that a biomarker based on oxidative stress-related genes can reliably predict the clinical outcome of UCEC patients. Furthermore, oxidative stress is found to be associated with immune cell infiltration in UCEC, suggesting its role in UCEC development by activating immune cells.

Summary: This study developed a predictive model for the cancer-specific survival (CSS) of uterine clear cell carcinoma (UCCC) patients. The model was based on data from the SEER database between 2000 and 2018. Age, tumor size, SEER stage, surgery, lymph node status, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy were identified as independent prognostic factors. A nomogram was constructed and validated using various statistical analyses.

Summary: The corpus callosum (CC) is a major interhemispheric commissure of placental mammals. During typical cortical development, axonal bifurcation rates in the cerebral cortex rise from embryonic day (E)17 and are reduced by postnatal day (P)9. In a CC dysgenesis mouse model, increased rates of axonal bifurcations were observed, suggesting a possible facilitation of aberrant connections in the absence of midline guidepost signaling.

Summary: Identifying neologisms in social web text is important for natural language processing, especially when informal language and youth slang are prevalent. This article proposes a method based on orthographic pleonasm to identify emotion-related neologisms in the social web, finding words with the most different letter repetition spelling variations. This method successfully identified new sentiment slang in comments on YouTube influencers, categorizing them as positive terms.

Summary: Various techniques have been introduced for reduction labiaplasty, but there is no single technique that is optimal for every patient. The choice of technique should be based on anatomical, configurational, and technical considerations, as well as the patient's personal preferences. An algorithm has been developed to guide the choice of technique, considering factors such as resection or retention of the labial free rim, required labial width reduction, labial vascular status, prevention of iatrogenic labial thickening, and preservation of labial sensibility. The choice of techniques includes edge trimming, central spindle form de-epithelialization or full-thickness resection, and modifications of the wedge resection or de-epithelialization technique.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate whether adding hormone receptor expression, L1CAM expression or CTNNB1 status can improve the accuracy of risk assessment in endometrial cancer (EC). The study found that the expression of ER, PR, L1CAM, and CTNNB1 did not have independent prognostic value in EC, while age, stage, and adjuvant chemotherapy had an independent impact on the risk of recurrence. However, in high-risk EC of non-serous/mixed papillary (NSMP) subgroup, ER positivity was independently associated with a reduced risk of recurrence.

Summary: Due to the genotoxic consequences of antineoplastic agents on non-cancerous tissue, it is crucial to understand their effects. This study aimed to characterize the genotoxic profile of different classes of antineoplastic drugs using a cell line assay. The results showed increased micronucleus formation with all tested drugs, as well as specific abnormalities for each drug class. These findings can aid in interpreting genotoxic aberrations in patients treated with these drugs.

Summary: This study evaluated cancer-specific distress and treatment satisfaction in patients with an ovarian mass. It found that many patients experienced high cancer-specific distress during the work-up process. However, patients were generally satisfied with their treatment regardless of the diagnosis and treatment location. This suggests that patients' preferences should be considered when developing risk assessment strategies.

Summary: Oncogenic rearrangements in the ALK gene are responsible for 5% of NSCLC cases, and ALK inhibitors have significantly improved the outcomes in ALK(+) mNSCLC patients. ALK(+) NSCLC accounts for 38% of cases in women of childbearing age, presenting new challenges in lung cancer and obstetrics research. This study reported a case of a pregnant HIV-infected patient with ALK(+) mNSCLC who had no fetal developmental abnormalities or obstetric complications during treatment with alectinib.

Summary: This study found that chemotherapy can cause damage to the maternal ovaries during pregnancy, and the extent of this damage depends on the type of chemotherapy and the duration of exposure. Short-term exposure leads to more severe damage, but it might be temporary. Chemotherapy also results in the loss of primordial follicles and DNA damage, with paclitaxel causing the least damage.
