Summary: This review and meta-analysis aimed to investigate the association between human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccination administered after excisional treatment of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) and the risk of CIN grade 2 or worse (CIN2+) recurrence. The analysis included nine studies and found that post-treatment HPV vaccination was associated with a significantly reduced risk of CIN2+ recurrence. However, there were serious risks of bias in the included studies.

Summary: This study aimed to provide an accurate and updated estimate of the association between second-hand smoke (SHS) exposure and cervical cancer (CC) risk through a systematic review and meta-analysis. The results showed a significant association between SHS exposure and an increased risk of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) and invasive CC. The intensity and duration of SHS exposure were found to be linearly associated with the risk of CC.

Summary: This study aims to evaluate the impact of various treatments for cervical intraepithelial neoplasia on the cervicovaginal microbiome and to identify the best form of treatment. The results of the study will help not only in treating the initial disease but also in managing dysbiosis that may underlie other pathological conditions.

Summary: HPV-related diseases are common in men globally, including condyloma, AIN, PIN, and anogenital and oropharyngeal cancers. Vaccine coverage for males is particularly low, with only 4% fully vaccinated worldwide. This review assessed HPV vaccination's impact on male diseases through thirteen studies, finding high efficacy against anal diseases and genital condyloma in HPV-naive males. However, evidence quality was moderate to low, and further RCTs are needed to evaluate the efficacy against male oropharyngeal cancer.

Summary: Each year in the US, about 100,000 people are treated for cervical precancer, 14,000 are diagnosed with cervical cancer, and 4,000 die from it. Almost all cervical cancers worldwide are caused by certain HPV genotypes. HPV vaccination at ages 9 to 12 can prevent over 90% of cervical precancers and cancers. Cervical cancer can be prevented through screening and treatment of cervical precancer in individuals with a cervix aged 21 to 65.

Summary: Persistent HPV infection is necessary but not sufficient for cervical cancer. Behavioral, environmental, or comorbid exposures may affect the development of cervical cancer. However, the validity of the observational studies describing these associations is still unclear.

Summary: This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to assess adherence to HPV vaccination in young working-age males. The results showed that adherence to HPV vaccination in this population is inadequate (pooled prevalence 11%), highlighting the need for vaccination campaigns in schools and workplaces to improve vaccination rates.

Summary: This study evaluated the accuracy of HPV-E6/E7 oncoprotein tests in detecting cervical precancer and cancer through a systematic review and meta-analysis. The results showed that oncoprotein tests have high specificity and can be used for triaging HPV-positive women. However, further follow-up is needed for oncoprotein-negative women.

Summary: Cervical cancer is a preventable disease but remains a significant public health problem. The Pap smear has achieved great success, but has limitations, leading to the need for new approaches for early diagnosis and biomarker discovery. miRNAs have been identified as non-invasive biomarkers and have potential clinical value for early-stage cervical intraepithelial neoplasia screening. This study reviewed the expression of circulating miRNAs in the development of cervical cancer and identified potential biomarkers.

Summary: The study found a decreasing trend in HPV 16/18 prevalence in women with CIN3 over the years, indicating the herd effect of the HPV vaccine, but the increase in high-risk HPV genotypes must be closely monitored.
