This paper aims to investigate the biaxial behavior of laser welded dual-phase (DP600)/transformation-induced plasticity (TRIP700) steel sheets. The formability of base metals and weldment were experimentally investigated by standard Erichsen test according to DIN EN ISO 20482. The simulation procedure was carried out using Abaqus/CAE software considering the properties of heat-affected zone. A parametric study was also performed to evaluate the effect of number of integration points through thickness and mesh size on the simulation results. The results show that there is a good agreement between the finite element simulation and the experimental observations when using solid elements models and using Swift and El-Magd models as plastic behavior criteria for DP600 and TRIP700 base metals, respectively.
