Summary: A high-stability nanosecond high-voltage pulse test system was developed to address the lack of a standard nanosecond high-voltage pulse generator for sensor calibration. The system was constructed by analyzing the circuit, designing the structure, and testing the performance. It can output double exponential nanosecond pulse voltages with a high consistency and stability, and has a rise time of 2.3+/-0.5 ns and a half-peak time of 23+/-5 ns, within the amplitude range of 10-60 kV. The maximum relative standard deviation of the peak value is 1.517%, and the relative standard uncertainty is less than 5 parts per thousand.

Summary: A unipolar high voltage pulsed power supply with power factor correction is proposed to generate uniform and diffuse plasma in dielectric barrier discharge loads. The power supply consists of a high voltage generating unit, a PFC unit, and a driving circuit. By introducing feedback clamping and reverse current blocking, repetitive nanosecond pulses are generated, resulting in a compact structure and high power factor.

Summary: This article describes a compact solid-state Marx modulator with a fast rising time and short pulsewidth based on a modular structure. The designed circuit consists of three components, including the Marx capacitor, an on switch to apply pulse to the load, and an off switch to pull down the pulse. The off switch, chosen as a MOSFET, provides a discharging path for the stored energy and is crucial for the fast falling time. A simple control algorithm and reliable drive circuit are proposed for complementary driving signals and power. Synchronization of gate signals and minimizing stray inductance are essential for shortening the rising, falling, and pulsewidth.

Summary: With the advancement of technology, low-temperature plasma has become increasingly important in industrial applications. The industrial application of low-temperature plasma requires high electron energy, low macroscopic temperature, and uniformity. Compared to direct current plasma and alternating current plasma, low-temperature plasma driven by nanosecond pulses has significant advantages in these aspects. This paper proposes a simple topology based on the pseudospark switch and the diode opening switch. A pulse generator is developed, which can output pulses with an amplitude of 106 kV, a rise time of 15.5 ns, a pulse width of 46 ns, and a maximum repetition rate of 1 kHz on a 260 omega resistive load. The proposed topology and pulse generator have potential applications in various industries.

Summary: A radiographic diagnostic has been developed to quantify the plume of erosion products after the interaction between a target and a relativistic electron beam. The diagnostic is based on a point Z-pinch (PZ-pinch) with a metallic plasma jet. It creates an X-ray source with high spatial resolution and was tested successfully using a linear induction accelerator. The diagnostic allows for the observation and measurement of the expansion of the plume.

Summary: In this study, anomalous thermal instabilities occurring in micropinches are analyzed using the theory of small perturbations. The dispersion relation and growth rates for the instabilities are obtained, and a comparison is made between anomalous thermal instabilities and sausage-type magnetohydrodynamic instabilities. The results show that there is a threshold current for each pinch material, below which anomalous thermal instabilities prevail over magnetohydrodynamic instabilities.
