Two copper (II) supramolecular isomers 1a and 1b formulated as [Cu(H2EDC)(2)](n) (H3EDC = 2-ethyl-1H-imidazole-4,5-dicarboxlylate) have been hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Coordination modes, hydrogen bonding interactions and stacking modes are different in the two isomers. Meanwhile, luminescent properties of the complexes were studied.
