The synthesis and characterization of new metal-free (4) and metallophthalocyanines (5, 6, 7 and 8) substituted four 15-membered tetraoxamonoaza macrocycles from 7-[(4-methylphenyl)sulfonyl]-2,3,6,7,8,9,11,12-octahydro-5H-1,4,10,13,7- benzotetraoxazacyclopen tadecine-15,16-dicarbonitrile (3) is described. The new compounds were characterized by a combination of IR, (1)H NMR, (13)C NMR, UV-vis, elemental analysis and MS spectral data. (C) 2008 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
