Summary: The research reports the first example of the addition of an ambident nucleophile's endocyclic center to a coordinated isocyanide, resulting in C,S-chelated deprotonated diaminocarbene complexes. The obtained complexes were characterized using various analytical techniques and the regioselectivity was confirmed by DFT calculations.

Summary: A method for obtaining C,S-cyclometalated deprotonated diaminocarbene complexes has been extended to reactions with pyridine-2(1H)-thione by adding a bifunctional N,S-nucleophile's endocyclic nitrogen atom to a coordinated isocyanide. The coupling of Pd-II- and Pt-II-bis(arylisocyanide) complexes with pyridine-2(1H)-thione leads to the formation of mononuclear C,S-cyclometalated deprotonated diaminocarbene complexes in high yield. The obtained complexes were characterized by various analytical techniques.

Summary: This study presents the synthesis of a triazolyl-pyridine-based aminophosphine compound and its Pd and Pt complexes, as well as their catalytic application in the annulation of internal alkynes to yield indenones. The results show that the Pd@2 catalyst generated from compound 2 can effectively catalyze the annulation reaction.

Summary: This study explores the use of anion-pi(+) interactions in the development of AIEgens and investigates their fluorescence properties and applications. Photophysical, computational, and crystallographic studies were conducted to understand the properties of these luminogens and elucidate the role of non-covalent interactions in inhibiting undesired effects.

Summary: Cocrystals of seven star-shaped triaryl compounds with pentafluorophenol (pfp) were characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The results showed that planar (or almost planar) compounds formed six 3:1 molecular complexes with well-defined layered structures. The layers consisted of alternating pfp(3) trimers linked by hydrogen bonding and triaryl molecules held together by weak C-H···F interactions. The overall crystal packing was attributed to stacking interactions between the triaryl-substituted molecules and the perfluorinated rings of pfp. The geometry of the components determined the flatness or corrugation of the layers. In the case of nonplanar triphenyl isocyanurate, the stoichiometry changed to 3:2 and the packing was controlled by intermolecular O-H···O=C hydrogen bonding.

Summary: A new compound was synthesized by hydrocyanation reaction under mild conditions, displaying an unexpected quasi-planar conformation with CH···O bonding and homoconjugation. Additionally, a pi-pi cofacial parallel stacked interaction was observed in the crystal structure. The molecular structure was further supported by experimental and theoretical NMR studies.

Summary: In this study, a Pt-II isocyanide complex was successfully synthesized via co-crystallization, and the impact of ICl halogen bonding, pi-pi stacking, and pi-hole(isocyano group)& sdot;& sdot;& sdot;d(z)(2)[Pt-II] interactions on the structure was investigated. Density functional theory calculations confirmed the existence of these noncovalent bonds. Additionally, solid-state photophysical study revealed an increase in luminescence intensity in the co-crystals, which was attributed to the suppression of nonradiative relaxation pathways.

Summary: The regium-pi stacking interactions in the Au-6⋯PhX complexes were studied, and it was found that the effects of electron-donating and electron-withdrawing substituents on the interactions are different. Moreover, the interactions between substituted benzene and Au-6 cluster were found to be stronger compared to the Au-6⋯benzene complex.

Summary: In this study, an aryl-extended calix[4]pyrrole with four meso-p-hydroxyphenyl substituents was used as a host molecule for chloride, acetate, and benzoate anions. Experimental results showed that chloride ions form hydrogen bonds with the upper rim hydroxyl groups, and the aromatic cations are bound to the shallow cavity of the host. Additionally, a dimeric capsule was formed by the inclusion of adiponitrile guest in the endo-cavity binding site. NMR titrations revealed that the host preferentially binds anionic guests in solution, with benzoate anion exhibiting the highest binding constant in acetonitrile. Density functional theory calculations indicated the preference of the exo-cavity complex with chloride anions over the endo-cavity complex, while the energies of the endo- and exo-cavity benzoate complexes were similar.

Summary: The study synthesized sterically encumbered gold(I) acyclic diaminocarbene (ADC) complexes with different ligands and found that the bulky biaryl/terphenyl groups strongly influence product selectivity in gold-catalyzed reactions. The research also revealed how large aryl groups impact reaction mechanisms.
