Fluorescent ligands have been designed to form ternary complexes with a Cu-II cation and phosphates in a buffer solution at physiological pH 7.4. It has been shown that a combination of two different ligands and CuCl2 allows one to achieve high adenosine triphosphate/adenosine diphosphate, adenosine 5'-monophosphate selectivity, and ratiometric fluorescence sensing, while separately each ligand complex does not have such properties.

Summary: Selective recognition of nucleotides is achieved through the synthesis of a new receptor with two different dyes, enabling detection of nucleotides in a broad concentration range. The receptor shows preference for binding ATP and CTP with turn-on fluorescence response, indicating its potential application in nucleic acid-related challenges.

Summary: A series of helix-like synthetic receptors were designed and synthesized to achieve recognition of perrhenate, with the one derived from 2,2'-(ethyne-1,2-diyl)dibenzoic acid showing the best selectivity. The receptors' properties were investigated in acetonitrile solution using NMR, UV-Vis, and in solid state by single crystal X-ray analysis.
