Summary: Cu(I/II)ATP reacts with methyl radicals to produce methane and methanol, with the reaction between CuIATP and center dot CH3 surprisingly slow. The low rate constant of this process is attributed to the significant rearrangement of the chelating ligand required for the formation of the transient.

Summary: A convenient method for ratiometric fluorescence detection of ATP based on CDs-OPD was developed, with high sensitivity (detection limit of 0.43 μmol L-1) achieved through the competitive reaction of ATP with Cu2+. Semi-quantitative measurement of ATP is possible through color changes, and the method showed satisfactory results for quantification of ATP in practical samples.

Summary: A new highly selective fluorescent probe AK1 was designed, synthesized and characterized for sequential sensing of Cu(II) and HS- ions in an aqueous solution. The probe showed significant fluorescence quenching in the presence of Cu(II), while other metal ions produced only minor changes in the fluorescence of AK1. The probe could detect and quantify Cu(II) and HS- ions in real water samples, and the optical properties were explained by density functional theory (DFT) and time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) calculations.

Summary: The CRISPR-Cas12a system, with its cleavage capability toward ssDNA, shows great potential in accurate recognition and quantitation of nucleic acids and non-nucleic-acid targets. An efficient ECL sensing platform based on CRISPR-Cas12a was developed for ATP analysis, which converts the recognition of target ATP into a detectable ECL signal. The detection limit of ATP was determined to be 0.48 nM under the optimal conditions, expanding the application of the CRISPR-Cas detection system.

Summary: In this study, a water-soluble [O,N,N,O] tetradentate ligand (BIP) was designed for Cu2+ recognition. It was synthesized in a three-step process with a 43% total yield. The recognition mechanism was confirmed through HRMS, 1HNMR, and FT-IR, indicating a 1:1 binding ratio of BIP and Cu2+ in PBS. BIP demonstrated excellent detection performance for Cu2+ in aqueous solution with high selectivity and sensitivity.

Summary: Carbon spheres were coated with polydopamine and adenosine triphosphate to obtain activated carbon spheres with C-N-P structure, which contributed to the formation of intumescent char layer. Zinc hydroxystannate was introduced to the surface of carbon phosphide spheres to create a composite functional hybrid reinforcement. The CS/PAP@ZHS-based EP exhibited the best fire and smoke suppression properties.

Summary: A Cu2+-mediated turn-on fluorescence biosensor based on DNA-templated silver nanoclusters was developed for sensitive detection of ATP. Cu2+ quenched the green fluorescence of the nanoclusters, but the addition of ATP disrupted the system and restored the fluorescence. The biosensor showed quantitative determination of ATP with a detection limit of 16 nM and was successfully applied to ATP detection in human urine and serum samples.

Summary: Chemical derivatives of PEI with either TPA or Cou can form stable complexes with adenine and guanine nucleotides in water based on noncovalent interactions such as pi-pi stacking and hydrogen bonding. PEI-TPA acts as a chemosensor with recognition based on AIE and pi-pi interaction, while the Cou derivative relies on electrostatic interaction. The study provides valuable insights into designing receptors for selective recognition of nucleotides in water.
