Summary: This study aimed to predict the expression of Ki-67 proliferative index and p53 tumor suppressor protein in meningioma patients using preoperative multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI)-based clinical-radiomic analysis combined with machine learning (ML) algorithms. The results showed that larger tumor volumes, irregular tumor margin, and unclear tumor-brain interface were independently associated with high Ki-67 expression, while the presence of necrosis and the dural tail sign were independently associated with positive p53 expression. A model combining clinical and radiological features yielded better performance, providing a novel non-invasive strategy for assessing cell proliferation.

Summary: The study analyzed the clinical and histopathological features of early gastric cancers with unclear lateral demarcation on magnifying endoscopy with narrow-band imaging (M-NBI). The nonneoplastic superficial epithelium and a low p53 score were found to be associated with difficulties in determining the lateral demarcation.

Summary: This study found a positive correlation between p53 and Ki-67 expression with the severity and duration of pterygium, indicating that p53 expression increased with the duration and severity of pterygium. Ki-67 expression, on the other hand, increased with the duration of pterygium but not with the severity.

Summary: This study evaluates the feasibility of using apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values combined with texture analysis (TA) to predict the expression levels of Ki-67 and p53 in endometrial carcinoma (EC) patients before surgery. The results show that ADC values combined with TA provide accurate predictions of Ki-67 and p53 expression levels, and have high auxiliary diagnostic value for clinical application.

Summary: The study aimed to investigate histopathological alterations in the larynx and parotid glands of rats with experimentally induced postnatal hypothyroidism. The results showed that vascular dilation in the larynx and serous asinus atrophy, nucleus changes, and stromal connective tissue increase in the parotid glands were significantly higher in the experimental groups compared to the control group. This suggests that hypothyroidism may have an effect on inflammatory processes in the larynx and parotid glands.

Summary: Ki-67, while not necessary for cell proliferation, plays a crucial role in tumor initiation, growth, and metastasis. Its absence leads to changes in the transcriptome and immune response, making cancer cells more susceptible to drugs and immune attacks.

Summary: The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of Flat-flattening Filter (FF) and Flattening Filter Free (FFF) beams on histopathological changes and Ki-67 expression levels in laryngeal cancer (LCa) post-radiotherapy (RT) on mice models. The results showed that FF and FFF beams significantly affected the histopathological parameters and Ki-67 expression levels, and there were significant differences between the effects of FF-RT and FFF-RT beams on LCa tissue.

Summary: High levels of intratumoral (iTAM), stromal (sTAM), and total macrophages (tTAM) are associated with advanced clinical stage and vascular invasion in canine mammary tumors. Additionally, tTAM is related to larger tumor size, while elevated levels of sTAM and tTAM are correlated with nodal metastasis and a poor prognosis based on survival analysis.

Summary: Peripheral nerve injuries lead to changes in the Agrin-LRP4-MuSK pathway, resulting in disaggregation of AChRs and a shift from epsilon to gamma subunit. This study evaluated the effect of combining tubulization with fibrin biopolymer on AChRs and associated proteins after peripheral nerve injury. The results showed that the tubulization with fibrin biopolymer group exhibited morphological and morphometric similarities to the control group at the neuromuscular junctions. Additionally, there was an increase in S100 and AChR epsilon protein expression, and a decrease in MyoD expression. These positive associations enhanced AChRs stabilization and promoted neuromuscular regeneration, highlighting the potential of tubulization for severe injury repair and the beneficial effect of fibrin biopolymer.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the influence of the freeze-thaw cycle and different blood matrices on the titration of circulating antibodies. The results showed that storage at -80°C for up to six years has no or little influence on the serum titers determined by DID, permitting its safe use in studies depending on this parameter. The concordant titrations in different blood matrices demonstrated that plasma can be used for immunodiffusion test in paracoccidioidomycosis, with stability for at least six months after storage at -20°C.
