Summary: This study evaluated the effects of mobile health apps on medication adherence and health outcomes in patients with CVD, finding that these apps tended to increase medication adherence and improve clinical outcomes. However, there is a wide variation in the design, content, and delivery of these interventions, necessitating further research to identify key components for successful apps.

Summary: To improve medication adherence, a digital AI-driven nudge intervention was co-developed with stakeholders. The intervention was found to address deficits in medication adherence tracking and was well-received by participants. Flexibility and reminder nudges were identified as critical success factors, while incentive-based nudges were viewed negatively by patients. Leveraging existing software and simplifying data entry requirements were suggested to minimize user burden. The findings demonstrate the acceptability and appropriateness of an AI-driven nudge tool, provided it is flexible to user requirements.

Summary: The TEXT4BP study aimed to assess the effectiveness and acceptability of a mobile phone text messaging intervention (TEXT4BP) in improving blood pressure control and treatment adherence among patients with hypertension in Nepal. The study found that the intervention group had greater reductions in blood pressure and improved medication adherence compared to the control group. The intervention was well accepted by the participants. This study provides promising evidence that text messaging interventions can be effective in improving blood pressure control in low-resource settings.

Summary: This study aimed to estimate the prevalence of medication noninitiation in the pediatric population and identify the factors that explain this behavior. The results showed a high prevalence of noninitiation in children and varied according to age and medical groups. The results also suggest that there are inequities in access to pharmacologic treatments in this population.
