Summary: This study conducted a scoping review of informatics core literature on medical practice variation (MPV). The results showed that current informatics research mainly focuses on detecting MPV, with less emphasis on the causes of variation or learning from it. Given the importance of MPV in healthcare, there should be more informatics research aimed at explaining and learning from MPV.

Summary: This research aims to describe the approaches taken by mental health providers and chaplains to address symptoms related to moral injury, and the potential implications of a holistic approach combining both fields. A scoping review of literature identified 35 relevant studies, most of which were conducted in military samples. The studies examined interventions delivered by chaplains, mental health providers, and combined approaches, but there is currently limited evidence to support the effectiveness of any approach. High quality empirical studies assessing the effectiveness of interventions designed to address moral injury-related symptoms are needed.

Summary: This study explores the intentions to participate in HPV vaccination among female high school students in Ghana. Results show that 64% of students agreed with at least one vaccination intention item, but 51% expressed uncertainty and 44% disagreed with at least one item. The vaccination uptake rate was 4.5%. Factors associated with higher vaccination intention scores include stronger beliefs in vaccine effectiveness and recommendations from parents, religious leaders, service providers, and vaccinated peers. Lower vaccination intention scores were associated with perceived barriers to vaccination.

Summary: This study revealed that modifiable risk factors for cervical cancer and HPV infection tend to co-occur among adolescents. Two distinct classes of students were identified, with high-risk students more likely to be exposed to multiple risk factors. Students with higher knowledge and perceived susceptibility were more likely to belong to the high-risk classes, suggesting a need for more complex risk reduction interventions.

Summary: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of health assessments on permanent residential aged care admission for older Australian women with and without dementia. The results showed that women who had health assessments were less likely to be admitted to residential aged care in the short term (100 days), regardless of dementia status. However, there were no significant differences at 500- and 1000-days follow-up. At 2000-days follow-up, women who had a health assessment were more likely to be admitted to residential aged care, regardless of dementia status.
