Summary: The Task Force used GRADE methodology and constructed 14 Population/Intervention/Comparison/Outcome questions (PICOs) covering diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of GBS. Recommendations and good practice points were provided based on the available evidence. The recommendations include considering history, CSF examination, electrodiagnostic testing and antibody testing for diagnosis. For treatment, IVIg or PE should be considered early on, and corticosteroids should be avoided. To assess prognosis, the modified Erasmus GBS outcome score (mEGOS) and modified Erasmus GBS Respiratory Insufficiency Score (mEGRIS) are recommended.

Summary: Antenatal screening/testing should follow the guidelines of the NHS Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Screening Programme. Newborn screening and necessary follow-up testing should also adhere to these guidelines. All babies under 1 year old entering the UK should be offered sickle cell disease screening. Preoperative screening is required for patients from ethnic groups with a high prevalence of the disease. Emergency screening using a sickle solubility test must always be followed by definitive analysis. Laboratories performing antenatal screening should use methods capable of detecting significant variants and quantitating haemoglobins A(2) and F according to the national programme's criteria. A provisional report must be provided to antenatal patients within three working days.

Summary: This is a collaboration between the British Society of Gastroenterology and the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy to update the 2016 guideline on endoscopy in patients on antiplatelet or anticoagulant therapy. The development process adhered to AGREE II principles and utilized GRADE methodology to derive the quality of evidence and strength of recommendations. The risk categories for endoscopic procedures and thrombosis have been revised based on evidence, with a particular focus on atrial fibrillation and strengthened recommendations for direct oral anticoagulants.

Summary: The incidence of differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) is increasing globally, mainly due to the detection of micro papillary thyroid carcinomas (microPTCs), which often lead to overtreatment without improvement in mortality rate. Less aggressive approaches, such as active surveillance or minimally invasive treatments (MIT), have been suggested as alternatives. Patient participation in decision-making process is crucial. The Endocrine Task Force of the EORTC aims to establish consensus and provide practical suggestions for implementing shared decision making (SDM) based on scientific evidence and patients' needs.

Summary: This study identified education and training of healthcare professionals (HCPs) as key opportunities to improve health behavior support (HBS) for childhood cancer survivors (CCSs). Survivorship care clinics should work towards establishing well-integrated structured care with internal and external networks, including HBS being part of routine care. Proper understanding of facilitators and barriers should lead to better survivorship care for CCSs.

Summary: This study explores the various values involved in oncological treatments and their implications in decision-making. It finds that clinical values are not the only ones that matter, and there is a broader range of values to consider. The study suggests that recognizing the values that count can improve patient-level decision-making and support, but the implications for reimbursement decisions are less clear.

Summary: This study evaluated the effectiveness of two Dutch hospitals' strategies aimed at increasing healthcare quality and reducing costs. The findings showed that both strategies led to a decrease in the volume of care provided by the hospitals, while maintaining the quality of care. However, one hospital failed to sufficiently reduce operating costs, resulting in declining profit margins. Overall, these strategies have shifted the focus of hospitals from production to quality-driven care.
