Summary: This article presents an energy-efficient distributed congestion control protocol (DCCP) to mitigate congestion and improve network performance in wireless multimedia sensor networks (WMSNs). The proposed protocol intelligently selects the best path and uses two congestion indicators to detect congestion. Experimental results show that the DCCP protocol significantly improves network performance and is superior to existing congestion control protocols.

Summary: In this paper, a novel accumulative Interest-based content-store architecture called E-DRAFT is proposed for NDN-based WMSNs to improve the efficiency of individual nodes as well as the overall network, and to control packet flooding. The ndnSIM simulator is used for comprehensive simulations, and the results show that the proposed approach effectively stops additional packet flooding and enhances processing efficiency in storing and retrieving Data packets compared to existing methodologies.

Summary: A high-precision fusion strategy is proposed for temperature monitoring in aquaculture ponds, which includes preprocessing the temperature data using an improved unscented Kalman filter, fusing the data collected from sensors at the local fusion center using sequential analysis and fast inverse covariance intersection (ICI) algorithm, and fusing the temperature data from the middle layer at the global fusion center using an improved seagull algorithm to optimize the extreme learning machine (ELM) algorithm. The results demonstrate that the fusion strategy reduces external interference, improves the accuracy of global optimal temperature state estimation, and ensures the stability and accuracy of data fusion.

Summary: The experimental research proposes a complete network system for distributed multimedia acquisition by mobile remote nodes, streaming to a central unit, and centralized real-time processing of the collected signals. The hardware structure and the best network performances for efficient and secure streaming are emphasized. Acoustic and video sensors, such as microphone arrays and video cameras, can be used in various robotic vehicles and systems. The main objective is to intercept unidentified sources, and experiments are conducted to validate the proposed multimedia network infrastructure in terms of efficiency and robustness.

Summary: The paper introduces a data collection mechanism called DDCF, which utilizes a mobile sink to collect data from sensors in a heterogeneous WSN. DDCF includes CP selection and tree topology construction phases to balance the lifetime of CPs and improve surveillance quality. Performance study shows that DDCF outperforms existing studies in terms of network lifetime, fairness, and surveillance quality.

Summary: Recent developments in wireless sensor networks have led to the distribution of low-power, intelligent sensor nodes over a large area. However, battery limitations have made it necessary for these nodes to periodically undergo maintenance. To address this issue, the WiSensor platform is proposed, which allows sensor nodes to use ambient Wi-Fi waves instead of actively emitting electromagnetic waves to transmit sensor data. By modulating the sensor data onto Wi-Fi channels through backscattering, the sensor nodes can transmit data without following Wi-Fi protocols. The prototype of WiSensor demonstrates promising potential for ultralow-power sensor data transmission in next-generation smart homes and other applications.

Summary: In this study, blockchain technology is used to enhance the security of wireless sensing data in the Internet of Things network architecture. The data from the wireless sensing network is fused at the farm's front-end integrated microcontroller and then encapsulated using a blockchain algorithm at the data processing center. The packaged data are stored in a cloud database and can be managed and analyzed remotely. This article proposes an innovative approach to enhance data processing security using blockchain technology.

Summary: This work investigates the UAV-enabled data collection problem for high information freshness in wireless sensor networks, formulating two optimization problems to minimize the maximal and average Age of Information (AoI) of Sensor Nodes (SNs). It proposes an iterative SN association and trajectory planning policy to seek age-optimal solutions, striking a balance between SNs' uploading time and UAV's flight time through optimized clustering weight.
