Summary: The study focused on the Minimum Connected k-Coverage problem, proposing two mathematical programming formulations and comparing them to a previous model. By using a standard mixed integer linear programming solver to solve various instances, the quality of LP-bound for each formulation and the proportion of instances optimally solved within a given CPU time were highlighted in the results.

Summary: This study proposes a node-level error control strategy for Wireless Sensor Networks using mixed-integer programming to determine the optimum error control method for each sensor node, aiming to maximize network lifetime and meet reliability requirements. The performance evaluations show that the node-level strategy provides significantly prolonged lifetimes and better energy-efficiency compared to network-level strategies, with developed meta-heuristic approaches reducing solution time and approaching optimal solutions.

Summary: Convergecast is the process of gathering all sensor data at the base station. We provide a pipelined algorithm for convergecast, which involves creating multiple data-gathering trees and allocating time slots and frequency channels. Our schedule reduces the time required for the first round of data collection and the channel allocation algorithm is close to optimal.

Summary: Recent studies show that mobile data collectors can significantly reduce the energy hole problem in wireless sensor networks, extending network lifetime. Existing schemes using mobile data collectors struggle to balance routing energy consumption and data delivery delay, and sensor network protocols often fail to maintain impact as the network topology changes.
