Summary: This paper investigates the physical layer security (PLS) performance of a wireless-powered ambient backscatter cooperative communication network under the threat of an eavesdropper. The secrecy outage probability (SOP) and secrecy energy efficiency (SEE) are derived, along with the secrecy diversity order. The numerical analysis results demonstrate that system parameters such as transmit power, secrecy rate threshold, reflection efficiency, and distance between the source and backscatter device have an impact on the performance improvement of SOP and SEE, providing guidance for balancing security and energy efficiency in ambient backscatter cooperative relay networks.

Summary: This paper proposes two efficient and low-complexity power control strategies for an ambient backscatter based spectrum-sharing network. These strategies eliminate the need to estimate all users' channel state information (CSI), reducing resource consumption. Theoretical analysis and simulation results demonstrate that the proposed power control strategies have lower outage probabilities and higher energy efficiency.

Summary: This paper investigates a cognitive radio network model where primary users have their specific licensed band and secondary users equipped with necessary hardware for energy harvesting can use the licensed band of primary users by smart sensing capability. Analytical expressions for network metrics, including data rate, outage probability, and energy efficiency, are derived, as well as optimal transmission power and energy harvesting power for maximum energy efficiency. Results show that outage probability improves with high transmission power in the downlink scenario and high harvested power in the uplink scenario, while energy efficiency improves using optimum transmission power and energy harvesting power in both scenarios.

Summary: This article investigates the system outage performance of a hybrid architecture combining visible light communication (VLC) and radio-frequency (RF) communication in a cooperative cognitive radio network (CCRN). The proposed architecture utilizes VLC for high data rate applications and RF for wide area coverage with high reliability. Through cooperative communication between licensed user (LU) nodes via an aggregation agent (AA), both LU and Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices can achieve two-way communications. The article establishes closed-form expressions for the outage probability of LU and IoT communication and formulates optimization problems to minimize the outage probability. Simulation results demonstrate the impact of VLC and RF system parameters on the outage probability and throughput of the system.

Summary: This paper proposes two novel protocols, SWIPT-CNOMA-PS and SWIPT-CNOMA-TS, to solve the problems of complex energy supply and poor communication effect of cell-edge users by combining the advantages of SWIPT and CNOMA. A new method for selecting relays is established by considering energy state and channel condition, and the variation of relay energy is analyzed using a one-dimensional Markov chain. The impact of energy threshold and number of relays on user outage probability is also revealed.
