Surface plasmonic regime is investigated at the flat interface of a superconductor and nonmagnetic dielectric. Using the two-fluid model and the BCS theory, the complex dielectric constant of a superconductor is examined for the whole electromagnetic spectrum. Emphasizing the plasmonic regime in the superconducting state, it is shown how the THz and optical surface waves with transverse magnetic (TM) modes can be coupled to the collective excitation of Cooper pairs at the superconductor/dielectric interface. The propagation characteristics of such surface waves are discussed followed by some numerical simulations.
