Summary: This work focuses on the synthesis of poly(pyrazolopyridine)s through a three-component Hantzsch reaction. The study first aimed to determine the suitable experimental conditions for synthesizing an analytically pure pyrazolopyridine heterocycle model compound. Specific difunctional precursors were then designed and synthesized, and poly(pyrazolopyridine)s were successfully synthesized through multicomponent polycondensation reaction. Some physico-chemical characterizations of these new macromolecular structures are described.

Summary: Nonstoichiometric polyaddition was achieved through Co-catalyzed hydroarylation of diyne monomers with excess 1-(2-pyrimidinyl)pyrrole. The 2-pyrimidinyl substituent acted as a directing group, facilitating intramolecular catalyst transfer and yielding poly(arylenevinylene)s with alkyne terminals and high molecular weight.

Summary: The Pd-catalyzed carbonylative polymerization of alpha,omega-enol ethers has been reported, allowing the modification of polymer properties by varying the length of the diol fragment in the monomers. This polymerization strategy has been extended to include rigid and bioderived diol moieties, expanding the range of structures and properties accessible.

Summary: Segmented thermoplastic copolyether esters with a partially renewable hard block containing isosorbide and poly(ethylene glycol) soft blocks were successfully prepared by melt polycondensation, despite facing challenges in achieving stoichiometric balance. Adjusting feed compositions resulted in copolymers with a broad range of mechanical properties.

Summary: High-molecular-weight hyperbranched polyether-b-amides (hb-PEBA) were prepared using NH2-terminated poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) and COOH-terminated three-armed N-methylbenzamide pentamers (TMA-3MAB(5)) as macromonomers. The films showed improved mechanical properties and shape memory, confirming the effectiveness of the synthesis method.

Summary: Plastic materials are crucial in modern society, and finding sustainable alternatives is essential for reducing environmental impact. 1,4:3,6-dianhydrohexitols are promising biobased monomers for sustainable polyester synthesis, but the low reactivity of these monomers has hindered the production of high molecular weight polyesters. This review compares academic and patent literature on polyester synthesis with these monomers and discusses their industrial viability, highlighting synthesis strategies and potential future developments.

Summary: An efficient synthetic strategy for bio-based polycarbonate was developed using tetramethylammonium-based amino acid ionic liquids as catalysts. By modifying the structure of the catalysts, the conversion of ISB and the molecular weight of PIC could be remarkably improved. The highest catalytic activity was observed with tetramethylammonium arginine due to its multiple active sites and high basicity.

Summary: Structure-property relationships of novel non-isocyanate poly(carbonate-urethane)s (NIPCU) based on renewable fatty diamine were studied. The addition of decamethylene carbonate units into the polyurethane structure improved the mechanical properties and solubility of the materials. The optimized molar ratio of urethane to carbonate groups resulted in the highest number-average molar mass and tensile strength.

Summary: The study synthesized PQHI polymer and its Cu+ metal-polymer complex, and prepared thin-film membranes for pervaporation separation of benzene and isopropanol mixtures. Comprehensive studies showed that these polymers have good performance capabilities as membrane materials in terms of structure, physical and mechanical properties.

Summary: This study provides insights into the transurethanization reactions in the synthesis of aliphatic-aromatic non-isocyanate poly(carbonate-urethane)s (NIPCUs) and their relationship with structure and properties. It was found that the alkyl chain length in 4,4 '-diphenylmethylene bis(hydroxyalkyl carbamate) (BHAC) plays a crucial role in these reactions. The presence of longer alkyl chains in the BHAC structure prevents side reactions.

Summary: This paper presents a non-isocyanate synthetic route towards linear aliphatic and aliphatic-aromatic poly(carbonate-urethane)s, utilizing urethane diols as hard segment precursors and oligo(hexamethylene-co-pentamethylene carbonate) diol as soft segment precursor. The impact of polyurethane structure on mechanical and thermal properties was studied, revealing that the presence of pentamethylene carbonate units can improve reaction efficiency. Characterization of the poly(carbonate-urethane)s included spectroscopic analysis, spectrometry, thermal analysis, and mechanical testing, showing promising tensile strengths for both types of polymers.
