Summary: The study used LC-MS/MS to profile the proteomes of Taenia hydatigena cyst scolex and the cyst without scolex, identifying 764 different proteins. Comparative analysis showed that proteins associated with growth and development were more abundant in CS, while proteins constituting a scaffolding and protective extracellular matrix were more abundant in CWS. Validation by Western blotting confirmed higher abundance of selected proteins in CWS compared to CS.

Summary: The Rhoptrobothriidae is a mysterious family of cestodes found in elasmobranchs, with debates over the taxonomic status of its original genera primarily due to differences in interpretation of the complex morphology of their scolex. Apart from Rhoptrobothrium, each genus is monotypic. New data from specimens collected from various locations have led to the assessment of the taxonomic status of these genera, revealing that Myzophyllobothrium, Myzocephalus, and Rhoptrobothrium are not mutually monophyletic, with Myzophyllobothrium being recognized as the valid genus.

Summary: Surgery alone for low-risk early-stage cervical adenocarcinoma has favorable outcomes, with negative HPV status and deep cervical stromal invasion being associated with poor locoregional recurrence-free survival. Patients with these risk factors may benefit from additional management post-surgery.

Summary: The diagnosis and classification of rhabdomyosarcoma have undergone shifts in the last 30 years, with changes in histologic criteria and reliance on immunohistochemical and molecular data leading to confusion. Research tools and current clinical trials aim to classify RMS and address biological questions, with the INSTRuCT initiative striving to optimize risk stratification by recognizing historical data differences.

Summary: This paper presents the first version of clinical practice guidelines for intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) established by the Liver Cancer Study Group of Japan. The guidelines cover various aspects of ICC, including etiology, pathology, diagnosis, and treatment, and provide a treatment algorithm and background statements.

Summary: Batrachoidiformes are benthic fishes that use rocks for spawning and their larvae have unique skeletal development. Porichthys notatus, a species of Batrachoidiformes, has late ossification of pharyngeal toothplates compared to other percomorphs. It also has a unique development of the posterior basibranchial copula cartilage. The morphology of P. notatus, including the formation of dorsal spines and pectoral fin radials, is compared to other acanthomorphs.

Summary: Autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) is a challenging liver disease to diagnose, and the International Autoimmune Hepatitis Group (IAIHG) scoring system was developed to assist in AIH diagnosis. The scoring system was originally designed for adults, so its performance in children needed evaluation. Liver biopsies were found to be an important component of the IAIHG scoring system, with specific biopsy features significantly associated with AIH. Incorporating liver biopsy data improved the performance of the scoring system, but there are differences between children and adults. Overall, the IAIHG score is effective but can be further improved for diagnosing AIH in children.

Summary: Detection and treatment of patients with familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) starting from childhood is crucial for reducing morbidity and mortality. This study investigated the current clinical approach to the management and treatment of pediatric patients with suspected FH in Italian lipid clinics, revealing some differences among centers but overall adherence to the European Atherosclerosis Society (EAS) recommendations for FH children and adolescents.

Summary: This study uses three-dimensional computed tomography to describe the three-dimensional variations of the swim bladder and sonic muscles of Porichthys notatus during its post-hatch larval development. The study also describes the relative position of the swim bladder to other visceral organs. Compared to other batrachoididae species, the swim bladder of P. notatus has an ovoid posterior region with two anterior lobes.

Summary: We report a case series of disseminated cysticercosis with a high lesion load in the brain. Disseminated cysticercosis presents clinical and radiological challenges, but most patients showed complete improvement in seizures with the use of albendazole and steroids. However, some patients experienced persistent memory and behavioral abnormalities, and there were two cases of mortality.

Summary: The study aims to analyze the function of the myzorhynchus and remnant apical organ in adult cestodes of the Rhinebothriidea order. The structures were analyzed in 12 species from six genera and two families. The glandular composition of the myzorhynchus and remnant apical organ were studied using histochemical techniques and/or transmission electron microscopy. The findings suggest that the type of gland cells in these structures can be used for the diagnosis of certain genera.

Summary: This study aims to test the feasibility and acceptability of an online singing intervention for people with Parkinson's disease and remote data collection procedures. The primary outcomes focus on recruitment, retention, attendance, safety, intervention fidelity, acceptability, and associated costs. This mode of delivery is designed to increase accessibility of singing interventions for Parkinson's patients.

Summary: Risk stratification according to the International Neuroblastoma Risk Group (INRG) is crucial for managing neuroblastoma. This retrospective study evaluated various parameters, including Mitosis Karyorrhexis Index (MKI), International Neuroblastoma Pathology Classification (INPC) morphological category, and MYCN amplification, in fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) samples of neuroblastoma patients. The findings highlight the importance of FNAB in diagnosing and risk stratifying neuroblastoma.

Summary: This study compared the pathological and genetic characteristics between triple-negative primary myelofibrosis (TN-PMF) and PMF with canonical driver mutations (DM-PMF). The results showed that TN-PMF patients were more likely to have thrombocytopenia and less likely to have organomegaly. The bone marrow of TN-PMF patients showed fewer granulocytic elements and more frequent dyserythropoiesis. Cytogenetic analysis revealed a higher incidence of trisomy 8, and targeted next-generation sequencing identified a lower frequency of ASXL1 mutations but enrichment of ASXL1/SRSF2 comutations. These findings suggest that TN-PMF may be pathogenetically different from DM-PMF, with potential prognostic implications.
