Charlotte Kelner

Senior Researcher Engagement Manager (Hindawi)

Charlotte (Charlie) Kelner is a Senior Research Engagement Manager at Hindawi, with a focus on helping reviewers have the best experience possible, and on developing ways that Hindawi can ensure the best results for all who are involved in the peer review process.

Peer review is an essential task that underpins scientific research, but writing your first review can often seem a daunting task. Moreover, for early career researchers it can be difficult to know when you are ready, that you have the knowledge, and that you too can play an important role in your field. How can you ensure you give constructive feedback? How do you manage reviewing the research of someone more senior than yourself? And how do you know it will help them improve their paper?

Join your LetPub host, Dr. Clark Holdsworth, as well as Professor Ashleigh Fletcher, Chief Editor of Adsorption Science & Technology, and Charlie Kelner, Senior Researcher Engagement Manager of Hindawi, to learn the essentials of peer review in this free webinar.

In this webinar, we will cover:

• Having the confidence to peer review
• How you get invited to review
• Managing differences in seniority
• Structuring your peer review clearly
• Providing constructive criticism
• How to critique on originality, validity, ethics, and more
• When to refuse to review

You will receive a certificate of attendance and a complimentary reviewer checklist after the webinar.
