Information is protection, in times when Non-communicable Diseases (NCDs) are on an increase in the country, labelling on food products act as an instrument of information for customers related to product nutritional contents. Labeling placed on the front side of the food pack are popularly called as Front of pack Labels. (FoPL). Thus, the purpose of Front of Pack Labelling (FoPL) is to empower consumers to make healthier choices of purchases by providing information about the specific nutritional quantity content in form of quality or a warning about the nutrients of concern present in the food product, in a straightforward, easy, simple and clear manner. Front-of-Pack Labels (FoPL) could serve the purpose of consumer awareness on alert for health concerns related to excess consumption of nutrients present in the food pack. The study analysis indicates that still awareness about FOPL needs to be created among consumers.
