Poster summary

Tourism is described as one of the main forces of economic growth for regional and national economies that provides significant earnings and tax revenues, attracts investments, and creates jobs. However, the positive economic impacts of tourism are often outweighed by the negative social, environmental, and psychological outcomes for local communities. This poster aims to (1) provide a brief overview of the “Tourism Impacts” project, (2) present the initial results of the studies on the impacts of tourism development on residents' health, and (3) call for collaborative research on the comprehensive effects of tourism on destination communities.
