30 years of hydroprocessing at UCT Prague - the transition from petroleum feedstocks to bio-oils from HTL and pyrolysis

Poster summary

Hydroprocessing including hydrotreating and hydrocracking is a key refinery process commonly used for the upgrading of various petroleum fractions to produce transportation fuels or feedstocks for other processes. Our Department of Petroleum Technology and Alternative Fuels at the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague investigates hydroprocessing for more than 30 years. We started with upgrading of fossil feedstock and 10 years ago we moved to the processing of bio-based feedstocks like HTL and pyrolysis oils, animal and vegetable oils and Fischer-Tropsch wax. Except of hydroprocessing our university started to build the state-of the-art catalytic testing units with fixed-bed reactors under the brand CACTU Solution.
