Posted in early May, rejected at the end of July, two reviewers, one agreed, one disagreed, rejected by the editor.
After revising in early October, submitted again.
Three reviewers, two of them remain unchanged in their opinions, the third one delayed for a long time and said there was no innovation, directly rejected; rejected by the editor.
Overall, the quality of the journal is okay, most of the reviewers' opinions are acceptable, but it is very slow and also acts as a gatekeeper for Q1 journals, always in Q2, the cost-effectiveness is not high. I will not submit to this journal again.

The text translates to: "It's just that the review speed is relatively slow, and the partition has dropped to Zone 3."

Posted on January 3rd, reviewed one month later, major revisions on March 2nd, delayed after revisions until March 29th for external review, approximately received the initial results on May 26th with the status changed to "required reviews completed," finally accepted on July 8th.

Overall, the experience was good, and the reviewers were very professional, raising many important questions. The journal specializes in algae research and has average expectations for the quality of articles. It would be great if the process was a bit faster, but if you are willing to wait, this journal is a good choice.

The speed is not very fast, and I still haven't made it to Q1.

AR is considered a well-recognized journal in the industry, but its classification is somewhat precarious. The overall speed of handling manuscripts is really slow, it can't be praised. Recently, there should be two reviewers for each submission, and it takes a long time to wait for the revised manuscript to be returned to the editor. I submitted in September 2021 and went through major revisions and minor revisions. It probably stayed in the editor's hands for more than a month. Still, it's acceptable, which can be seen as a consolation. I hope to stand my ground in the second tier.

It has been 5 days since submission and it is still in "Editor Invited" status. I feel that the journal's speed is a bit slow.

Looking at the reviewers and editors, generally the editors are quite fast. They will find two reviewers, and if both reviewers reject, then it will be rejected directly. If one approves and one rejects, they will find a third reviewer. The speed is still acceptable! Usually 1-2 months.

What is the speed of the review process for this journal? It feels like the news is quite outdated. I am studying the smell of algae.

Alger 2021-01-22

The review process was fast. The manuscript was submitted on October 19th, and the review comments were received on November 14th. The revision was made on December 7th, with minor revisions on December 31st. It was revised again on January 4th, and the editor provided minor revision suggestions on January 7th. The acceptance was made on January 13th. Overall, it was still very fast.
