The surface electrochemical treatment direction for additive manufacturing that I worked on, I first submitted to Additive Manufacturing. It took one month for the external review, with two negative opinions and one positive opinion. The editor-in-chief of Additive Manufacturing rejected it, and they suggested that I submit it to Materials Characterization instead, which is not quite related to my research direction. The recommendation was a bit unexpected. After carefully revising the paper based on the feedback from Additive Manufacturing, I submitted it to SCT.

At SCT, there were two reviewers who took about three weeks to complete the review process. The editor, S.M.A Shibli, responded quickly and gave me 21 days for major revisions. I spent two weeks conducting additional experiments and then resubmitted the revised version. With the new feature of Elsevier, I could see that the editor only assigned one reviewer for the second round of review, and the reviewer completed it within two days. The editor accepted the paper on the following day.

The efficiency of both the editor, S.M.A Shibli, and the reviewers was very high!
