Submitted on July 15th, 2023, and received minor revision comments on July 18th. After making the necessary changes, the editor-in-chief sent an email stating that it would soon go into peer review. After a week, it remained assigned to an editor. Then, on July 26th, 2023, the associate editor emailed me, stating that it was rejected as it fell outside the scope of the journal.

Pros: The rejection was received quickly.
Cons: The editor-in-chief (a foreigner) mentioned it was going for review, while the associate editor (a Chinese) stated it was rejected due to being outside the scope. What is going on?

A very disappointing journal. Submitted on November 29th, it was not reviewed until the end of February. Both reviewers requested major revisions. After addressing the first reviewer's comments, the second reviewer clearly did not understand the subject matter. Their suggestions were completely irrelevant. After making the changes, it was conditionally accepted. However, the second reviewer provided a second round of comments, and after the revisions were submitted, it was rejected outright. This journal and its editors are truly incompetent. I strongly advise against submitting to such a journal.

The editorial review speed of AO is particularly fast. Initially, 7 reviewers were contacted, and three of them accepted the review. Two weeks later, two reviewers came back with their opinions, but the third reviewer did not respond for a long time.
