The review process is very short, but the review period is quite long. The reviewers are very meticulous. I hope the journal will continue to improve. The originally required publication fee of 3000 yuan has also been waived.

In the same direction, someone else was accepted, but mine was rejected. Haha.

Actually, the efficiency is quite high. I was a bit busy and didn't address the reviewer comments. I submitted the revised version on the last day.

The text translates to: "The submission was rejected by assistant editor Zheng Jianfen within 2 days, citing reasons of being different from the journal's focus. Moreover, there are publications in the same direction as mine recently. I won't say much, let's change."

Returned by the assistant editor.

Recently, CCS chemistry has been launched again. I wonder if it will take away some of the manuscript sources.

Add one more point: I specifically checked, and the articles published on the journal in our field are indeed all written by experts. Each one I checked was accurate and well-done, with innovative ideas. Our master's research group may not be considered experts, but recently we were invited to write articles for a public account, so I think the editors recognize our work. Best wishes.

It has been one week already, when is the usual time for submission for review?

化学小白白 2022-04-17

It has been a week and it is still being processed by the assistant editor. May I ask when will it be submitted for review?

The last article of my master's degree, I was originally hoping to publish it in Angewandte Chemie, but unfortunately it was rejected. My advisor suggested splitting it into two papers to be published in Organic Letters and Organic Chemistry Frontiers. I don't think it's very meaningful to publish in these two journals, I would rather publish in a journal with a higher impact factor. I submitted it to Synthetic Communications, and it took one month for the review process. Two reviewers provided constructive comments and evaluations, and also recommended many valuable reference papers. Consequently, the editor requested major revisions. Due to the pandemic, I couldn't conduct experiments at the university, so my junior colleague helped me with the experiments for a month. After revising and resubmitting, I received an acceptance email within a week... The efficiency is just average, but at least I can breathe a sigh of relief.

Very disappointed, waited for 3 months just for the review. The review process took 1 week, and I received 2 comments in return. One was rejection, and the other one had nothing to do with my submission. The reason for rejection was also somewhat confusing. But providing incorrect review comments clearly shows the incompetence of the journal in selecting reviewers, which is a disgrace to the name "China" in the journal.

The third project of my master's degree is about biomedical materials. I submitted it to AM for review but it was rejected. Then I submitted it to Angew, and it was rejected within seconds. After that, I submitted it to SCC, expecting it to at least reach the level of Small or similar journals. I didn't know much about domestic journals before, but since NSR and Bioactive Materials emerged, my advisor seems to have a special interest in investing in domestic journals. I took a look at SCC's articles, and the quality is comparable to top-tier journals in the first zone. Several prominent Chinese researchers have also published impressive ideas in SCC. However, the proportion of Chinese authors is too high, with a self-citation rate of 10%. The overall publication volume is also not high. Under the support of government funding in recent years, it might be considered acceptable, but the international influence is still too low. There is still a long way to go.

Congratulations to domestic journals for winning the first district, with their rising speed closely approaching Nature Chemistry. Hehe.

Stupid locally-produced journals have occupied the top spot, engaging in unethical competition and aggressively suppressing excellent foreign journals. If you have connections or influential contacts, you can submit your work to this journal.

yuantongtong 2021-10-25

Mine is the same. It has been a week and it is still with the assistant editor. May I ask how long it took for yours to reach the editor?

yuantongtong 2021-10-20

Charge, 3000 yuan for one article.

I feel that the work is well done and I have also proposed innovative points. I tried submitting to Angew, but the result was two rejections and one acceptance. Later, I decided not to submit to Chem. Commun and Org. Lett. I feel that although these two journals have a good reputation, I am not optimistic about their future development. It is better to invest in SCC (three reviewers agreed to accept, their comments were also reasonable, and the editor gave major revisions). Moreover, the scientific research strength and influence of our country are increasing year by year. SCC is expected to exceed 10 next year. The position of top foreign journals is difficult to shake, after all, they have gone through many years of accumulation, establishing reputation and influence. In comparison, domestic journals have a slower start, and there are some problems that are unavoidable in the development process. However, personally, I still have confidence in the development of domestic journals. After all, the path of development is tortuous, but the overall trend is progress. As a basic scientific researcher, I believe that we should have more patience and confidence in domestic journals, and publish our proud achievements in the journals nurtured by our own country. This can be considered as contributing a small effort to the development of national scientific research.

May I ask about the requirement in the journal submission to provide authors' publications related to this work? I do not fully understand the meaning of this sentence. I would like to seek your advice on how you approached this part when writing the cover letter.

I feel that domestic journals are really unfriendly. I haven't submitted any articles for several years, and this year I submitted two, but none of them were reviewed, including this one. The first article has already been accepted and published by a top journal in Zone 1. I think the work on this article is also pretty good.

qin0606 2021-03-09

Excuse me, is the submission process the same for the Chinese and English versions of this journal? I couldn't find any information about the Chinese version for graduation statistics, so I filled out the English version instead.

I'm telling you, the article I submitted, it was really impressive. It was in the hands of the editor for 50 days and still not sent for review. It was shortly after Christmas, and the teacher didn't allow me to rush, saying that they might be looking for reviewers. Then it got rejected without any reason given, just saying that now they can only review 25% of the submissions. Why didn't they reject it earlier if they weren't going to review it? It's so frustrating.
