The review process was very fast and unexpected. The submission took about five days to be under review, and within fifteen days, the review comments came back for major revisions. There were two reviewers. The first one was very professional and friendly. Their questions were helpful. The second reviewer asked detailed questions about data statistics. After making the necessary revisions, a minor revision was requested after about a week. Once the revisions were made and resubmitted, the article was accepted the same day. The entire submission process took about a month and a half. The editor was also very nice, and overall, the experience of submitting the article was very positive.

Overall, it is quite good, a well-established journal in the field of polymers.
During the article submission process, there were some small episodes (during which a non-expert reviewer asked a lot of nonsensical non-expert questions and gave negative comments, which probably affected the editor's judgment, leading to rejection). I angrily wrote a lengthy appeal letter, which probably impressed the editor and persuaded them to allow me to resubmit the article. But it was not a big deal.
The resubmission process went relatively smoothly. The article was returned for major revisions after one month, and all three reviewers provided positive feedback. One of them strongly recommended publication and raised insightful and constructive questions. There were about 6 or 7 questions in total, and I diligently replied to each one in over 20 pages. It was a sincere and thorough response. The publication process took about 1 and a half months, with the following timeline for reference:
Received: December 1, 2022
Major Revised: January 15, 2023
Accepted: January 16, 2023
Available online: January 17, 2023.

The editor chose Muller and didn't dare to choose Chinese editors, and the result was indeed better. This year, various journals have rejected submissions four times, three of which were Chinese editors. They were all relatively tough with both positive and negative feedback. Moreover, all the reviewers who rejected the manuscripts were Chinese, which really makes me feel ashamed for these so-called compatriots. They reject manuscripts just for the sake of rejecting them, without any useful suggestions. They can't stand to see others succeed.
